You can find that computer shop which is located in Edgware road ... actually its an internet cafe ... but I guess they can help you in fixing your computer
but not sure about it !!

PC World... They're a rip-off but hey, its not like you have a choice.. :screwy:
Or you could buy me a ticket to London & I'd fix it for you on my own .. :naughty:
Your documents should be fine unless you've got a hardware hard-disk fault. If it's a regular desktop, just take the hard-disk out and install it on another computer (not forgetting to set the jumper to slave) and you'll be able to browse and copy your files onto the primary drive...
If you've got any more questions lemmy know..
Ciao.. :wavey:

ahaa finally I found myself someone who knows IT.
Dr.Xta-C is right you should take the hard disk and intall it as a slave drive in other computer and then you can backup your fines from that drive.
Thanks,
Faisal

That's a bit of an ouchy cuz with laptops its quite more complicated.. hmmm..! Ok, now lemmy know what happens when you start ur laptop.. Is it like NOTHING at all or is it a problem with getting into the operating system (e.g. Windows)??

thx guys... i think my laptop has a hardware fault... i keep gettin a blue screen fatal system error and alot of numbers following that... i asked my friend he said he got that once...n now he has a new hard drive....
pc world.. i called them.. i have to go over there and then make a doctors appointment for my computer.. then i should take my computer pay 40pounds.. the technician/doctor will look at it.. and if he can fix it il pay more!
so im thinkin about sendin it back to bahrain gettin it fixed and then sending it back here to london...
so now i got two choices.. il check out pcworld first... if not il send it,,,
nemore ideas?

hp compaq nx9010... windows xp pro service pack2
n sendin it to bahrain seems to be the only sensible choice.. i called the computer guy that i deal with he said he might be able to save all my documnets..
also.. i talked to my computer class teacher.. she explained that i may be able to save it usiing msdos...
so if i can save it this way now.. then i wont send it to bahrain.. if not... BAHRAIN

If your hard drive is set to NTFS, try to somehow get an MS-DOS bootable CD-Rom (e.g. Windows ME installation disc) and log onto MS-DOS promt. If its FAT32 then you should be able to get into DOS mode by just hitting F8 during boot-up, right after the flash screen. If your documents are not too big/many, u'd probably be able to save them onto 1.44 floppy disks... Hmmm ! 40 Quid just to look at the damn thing ! It so ain't worth it.. Try some other computer stores. Theres one on Edgeware road but I forgot what it's called... If you're walking from marble arch, it'll be on your right side about 100 meters in front of woolworths before the right turn that takes you to the subway station. I'd assume they might be able to help you but I'm not sure..! My PCs/Laptops never had to leave the room to get fixed..!
