We have a few Subaru's in bahrain. The reason they are not very famous is because the dealer is not very supportive. Nobody wants a car without a warranty and without some simple parts being readily available. I agree with you the WRX and especially the latest model STI is one hell of a car.
Very few were into Evo's before they were available in Bahrain, not many new the potential it can offer stock and especially modified until the dealer brought some, even without warranty they sold like hot cakes. Its just when you see one infront of you and you like it then you will buy it, but when they tell you that you have to order one and wait a few months and no warranty and your paying 12k plus you will quickly walk out the dealership thinking again and looking for another car (hint:EVO)
I am sure if the dealer just takes a risk and brings 2-3 sti's each in a different colors they will get sold quickly. thats if they are closely priced to the EVO, give or take 1000bd.
Once they are seen on the street and everybody starts falling in love with them then more will get sold.
How famous are WRX's in Oman? are they liked localy more than the EVO?
Does the dealer sell them? if so, how much? warranty?
and yes, this thread is worthless without pics :lmao:

welcome to bahrain empreza!
well, i agree with spoolin, the dealership has a lot to do with whether the car becomes popular or not... For example, BMW were reasonably popular in bahrain but theyre old dealer wasnt that great. Suddenly when EuroMotors took up the showroom it was like BMW is the best car in bahrain and they were selling like nothing else.
im sure a lot of people like the empreza its just that theyre not found here on the streets doesnt mean we dont like them. Do you have one? If so bring it from Oman it might open up peoples attitudes to them a bit :naughty:

what u guys just mentioned seems to be the main reason behind this....but!check this out!!!today just i was cruising around in isa-town just as if god replied my prayers..i saw a subaru legacy 2001 metallic green color!!and an old empreza...i think it was 1996...any way...the answer to ur question about which of the beauties is most popular in oman...i whould say that they like the evo more than the wrx...wannah know whyyy?cos there are so many emprezas it seems like a normal thing...on the other hand the evo has a lot to offer....and 4ced induction!thanx for the warm welcome man!it's nice to be in bahrain at last....and about u asking wether i had an empreza in oman or not.........i do have a car which i have brought here with me from oman....it's a bmw 520i model 2002...with leather all over the inside...u might spot me wandering around in bahrain...the license plate is (432:ww)..the car's color is silver...BUT!!!im seriously thinking of buying an empreza 6 months from now...!!!!!i have did all the calculations and it seems that it will be here in 6 months...HERE!!IN BAHRAIN!!!but i have not made up my mind about where should i buy it from!!from here???from oman and ship it here?that's gonnah cost a lot!!from the uae????but i have asked about the price in oman ....the normal empreza..not the wrx or the s.t.i(subaru technica international)with rally seats and cd player and sun roof and a 2.0 liters engine with fog lamps and all the rest of it...costs less than 5,000:naughty: aint that something.....hope to see more hot cars in bahrain!!!!sallam!!

I used to live in dubai and i checked out the shipping prices from there. If you want to ship a car from dubai to bahrain it costs somewhere between 250-350 dinars by sea. However, there are some companies that ship the car by road on a trailer for about 60bd. Shipping from oman might just be a small differnce only since theyre next to each other.
5000bd? thats kind of cheap bal shakla if we had a good dealer theyll be selling belhabal :lmao:

the empreza(sti) is very similar to the normal one....the only diffrence is that the sti is equipped with special adjustments,like....fog lamps..u know!!things on the outside!...BUT!!THE WRX!!the diffrence between the wrx and the normal empreza is just like the diffrence between the lancer and the evo...except that the normal empreza is much stronger the normal lancer....the price of the sti is around 7500 RO and the wrx is worth under 10000RO ok? hope that answerd ur question

SORRY empreza to tell ya that ur wrong about the differences between the wrx and the sti,,
There are three types of impreza's:
1-the normal impreza, which is in the same class as the lancer and the corolla's.
2-the impreza wrx, which there was one here"silver" and got sold here at 9,000 bd.. it has 2.0 turbo engine at 227 hp...
3-the impreza wrx sti, which is the most powerful impreza, and has 280 hp and in the same class as the lancer evo...and one of these cars were sold here through the dealer from jordan,,and was sold at 16,000 bd... the new 2004 sti's have around 300 hp... :bigok:
so if u can check the prices over there "oman",and let me know,,cuz i'm thinking of buying one too !!
