Bahrain GP under threat

The Foreign Office has warned Formula One that it has reason to suspect that there could be terrorist attacks at the Bahrain Grand Prix in April 2004. :ar:

The 2004 event will be the inaugural race for the Middle East country, however, it has been placed in jeopardy following the Foreign Office’s terrorist alert. The reason for suspecting the attacks is because the grand prix is considered to be a western interest, and will attract 70,000 people.

At present though the race is expected to go ahead as schedule.

Meanwhile the Formula One Management company is not rushing to any decisions just yet. Instead, FOM will wait and see what more transpires.

SORRY GUYS ALTHOUGH 70% OF THE CONSTRUCTION WORK HAS FINISHED THE CONTRACTOR ON site ONLY HAS TIME TILL 6 OF MARCH , BECAUSE AT THE 7TH OF MARCH THE F1 MANAGEMENT WILL COME TO HAVE A LOOK AT IT AND SEE IF IT HAS MEET THEIR REQUIRMENTS.

MOREOVER, THE CIRCUIT AND THE UNDERNIETH STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY INSTALLED NEED TO BE COMMISIONED AND COMMISIONING NORMALY REQUIRES OVER THREE MONTH OF TIME FOR SUCH TYPE OF PROJECTS , HOWEVER AN INSIDE SOURCE SAID THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO DO IT WITH IN THREE WEEKS LETS HOPE NOTHING GOES WRONG (REMEMBER THE MCLAREN MP4-18) NEVER HIT THE RACE TRACK ON 2003 , DUE TO THINGS NOT GOING THE RIGHT WAY.

the main contractor CYBARCO have to finish it on time, otherwise they will be looking at a penalty of around 30 million dollars!

However, if they finish ahead of program, they are loking at bonuses of around 10 million dollars! :naughty:

Again, tt has already taken place in December. Besides, as far as t rules r concerned, car is different than t track.
