Hey guyz

maybe im imagening things ... but im not feeling the power in my car since i fitted the rimz!!

is it coz of the 19's??

and what do i have to do to gain back the power loss??

PS: im afraid that my car will lose traction if i put back the 17's... so think of something else :)

well this matter of bigger rims is somethin i will never be able to figure .. some say bigger rims are bad for a start but good for top speed and vice versa ..

dont know for real .. i tried it myself and felt that smaller rims helps alot for a start and that was on a Cross engine car ..

not sure really but if u think it's coz of the wheels then u can always remove them and check :bigok:

They do drop 0-60 and 1/4 mile times...

But i wouldn't say loss of hp:nono:

when u fit bigger rimz,,it will effect ur car's performance 4 sure !

i remember,on my z32 TT , i had the original 16" rimz first, the car used to lunch great, and there's no traction in 1st gear and 2nd.
but after fitting the 18" rimz.,i lunch the car, and i can feel that it is much heavier, and that the differential can't move these big rimz as it used to do !

so,,bigger wheels, will always slow down the car ,bcuz of the bigger diameter, and the bcuz the rim it self is heavier !
and i think it makes a big difference !
i raced in the car b4,and lost to some car,and then raced the same car in the same time, with the smaller rimz,,and i passed it, so it makes a big difference !

its just physics !

With bigger wheels you need deeper axle ratio (numirecally higher) for example if you have 3.23 now with bigger rims you will surely need 3.42 or more (less pinion teeth) i dont know if there is any aftermarket axle ratios for Luminas. All the best & good luck

measure the diameter of the wheels and tires, see of there's a lot of difference, sometimes you feel the car is slower but its not..
