Okay here's my problem...

Turbo cars produce high temps and that's normal cuz of the 4ced air getting into the chamber... !

Lately, I have been facing a problem with my spark plugs i'm using on the silvia....as soon as i crank the boost up..above 15 psi, few runs and my spark plugs are gone  they either crack or cut into half and come outta the exhaust:duh:

I have been using splitfire triple platiums, gapped to proper specs ...

But i think thier heat range is too hot now that i'm runnin extreme boost, I didnt have this problem before as i never boosted this much..now that my setup completed and i'm ready to boost up ...I'm facing this problem of spark plugs breaking ...

Can someone tell what plugs to use for 4ced induction/nos applications ..."NGK,denso etc etc ? "

Where to get them from ...I need heat range of 7 or 8's either in iradium or platium ...something that will last and not break under high load/high temp..

Thanx :)

btw,

I tuned my silvia to about 12.6- 13.0 A/F ratio all the way ... !

So I don't think that i'm running lean to detonate and break them, I just need more durable ones that will last. . !

My propper specs :duh:

My current ones are the splitfire triple plat's ! They're heat range 6
My proper specs ..I need heat range of 7 or 8...Resistor type ..Iridium ... !

I'll gap them to my engine's spec later ! that's all

what kind of engine management are you using? temps will rise, but shouldnt rise so much, when boosting high, because the injectors will pump enough fuel to equal that amount of air coming in, if the engine management was done correctly.

And if that is not the case, your MAF or MAP sensor might not be correctly reading the air coming in correctly, therefore sending wrong into to your ECU. might need to be cleaned, could be covered with dirt or oil. Or simply you need a bigger sensor for what you are boosting.

I dont know what exactly makes spark plugs go out, but might want to try spark plugs that are 1 step colder from what you are using.
NGK or denso iridium heat range 7 should be a good choice. it should drop your EGT manifold temps by 100 degrees.

oh and you get get some 7's that are pre-gapped for you, you just need to look up the right number.
with 8's you might run into cold start problems and idling problems.
