Hey,

i know i havent posted in a long time, ive been a bit busy with the car i bought (FINALLY, its a modded 89 foxbody pumping out almost 420 HP). Anyway, as i listed before, my freind needs a subrau STI engine to swap into his impreza GL (1993), and since i dont know that much about scoobies, i thought id try to find someone who does here. Anyone ever do this swap, and what are the exact parts that i need? and how much will it cost in total?

The car is AWD ofcourse, and has a 5 speed manual.

If anyone can lead me to someone who can get me an STI engine and give me these hints, it would be great. Thanks to all...

STIs are very rare ...

with a new STi motor you will need also a 6-speed STi transmission and ECU and all the wiring. Other than that I think you are set.
About the motor, here are some sites that sell the jdm 2.0L STi and the 2.5L usdm STi crate engines, but they also have some Stroker Kits if you might be interested.
However, I dont know about shipping, you might want to ask them.
They can also help answer with what you need for supporting the new motor.

u can find the engine and tranny in UAE that's not really a problem


the main issue is the ecu

modern subie's all come with an immobilizer ignition... u'll have a hard time starting the car without making the ecu happy.. (not easy to do)

i saw them in pictures taken from a friend who went on a trip to UAE.. i'll post the pic 2morrow from work


even if i said where it was seen... it's here today gone tomorrow..

just gotta go find it yourself
