Schumacher admits he’s wary of Raikkonen
Ferrari driver calls the Finn ‘the dangerous one’ [24/01/04 - 11:31]

illiams drivers Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya may have excelled during the team’s recent pre-season test sessions, however, Michael Schumacher does not believe either will be a threat to him during the 2004 season. Rather, Schumi says that honour will go to Kimi Raikkonen.
Raikkonen finished runner-up to Schumacher in last year’s campaign, although the McLaren driver did manage to take the fight to the wire. Entering the season-ending Japanese Grand Prix Raikkonen needed to win the race and have Schumacher finish out of the points in order to dethrone the Ferrari driver. However, the 24-year-old could only manage second place while Schumacher succeeded in getting that one vital point and his sixth World title.
Three months late, though, Schumacher has not forgotten how close the battle was, and admits that it is the Mercedes-powered McLaren driver who most concerns him.
Speaking at Barcelona where he was testing on Thursday and Friday, Schumacher was asked by Autosport if the pace shown by the new Williams FW26 in testing worried him. He responded by saying: "The dangerous one is not here. He's testing somewhere else."
That ‘dangerous one’ can only be Raikkonen who spent the week testing in private for McLaren at Valencia.
