well .. i was wondering which car is faster ?! .. i have a 2005 honda civic 1.7L VTI and my friend has a corolla 2005 1.8L .. which car u think is faster at start ?? and afterwards :) ?? both are standard .. thanks :afro:

The new civic is fast but not as fast as the accord.. and I played around with 1.8 corolla ( i gave him a head start and I still passed ) but I don't think I'll have a chance with new model Accord. am up 4 it if you want to but you should wiat coz the car in the agent for 1k service..

I used to have a 5MT 02 rolla with 2zz heads and ecu, and it was abit faster than my friend 4.6 stang ? thu I had some issues with the transmssion cuz the 5MT has longer ratio that the standard 6MT :(

Well, even in stock form they couldn't keep up with my previous roll, I'm not sure why but maybe cuz they where automatic (( p.s they don't come with manual transmission in qatar ))

u can get ur computer upgraded in the US which might take 2 weeks till ur car's ecu is sent, tuned and send back which means ur car has to remain standing for 2 weeks

hey im from uae, and according to the honda uae's website the new civic is 154 hp 6300 rpm and i think with manual it will pass corolla manul easily!

it says civc manual 1.8 does in 7.7s and the corolla 1.8 does in 7.9

actually the accord generation (98-02)has three engines in its lineup, a 2.3 non vtec (135), a vtec 2.3(150),and a 3 vtec(200),
so mine would be the first one which means i will lose 5 hp as our ludes come with 140in f22's,
but i cant say anything more to my father cause i wont listen!
actually he is in this field for more than 30 years, so knows very much (mashallah), he used to like racing and modifying as he told me in his time he had a 300zx twin turbo, which he says was the fastest modified car in the uae, so im like moding too and cars ofcourse so every thing i try to do he says no,

u know i was very surprized about the new civic vti 1.8 sohc vtec its manual does 0-60m in 7.7 according to a site, very impressve,
ok can u suggest me any new car that does 0-60m between 7-8 secs, a japanese, not a big engine, not more than 2.3, (dads my fathers requirements hahahah)
he says if u want any fast first graduate!
so i think civic 1.8 is cool 7.7 with 1.8 is great!
