Need a car electrician.

Im looking for a good car electrician to fix my roof, I took it to some place's and they said we cant do anything with that big computer of yours in the trunk..so you guys know a good one?

wow... youre pretty much screwed with that top... i remmeber on my crx, when i had a problem and went to the dealer it was just jammed a bit, theyre like yeah sure well fix it for you... that will be 400 dinars plz im like wtf ill do it myself

dude, take the motor out... sure it was a nice gimmick to begin with... but lose it its already too heavy, u can do that stuff manually. drop a v8 in the back and make it a rwd :devil3:

I havent checked for anything..but i think the unit is damaged or something..
first the roof button doesnt work from inside the car on the dashboard
second when you open the handles theres no beeping or anything.

my trunk works well, but you cant open it from inside the car you gotta get out and open it from the back..

what do you suggest i do?

Maybe u just burnt away a couple of fuses. Have you checked that?

No i havent done/checked anything yet, i dont know what to do or where to go.

look for burnt fuses before you take it to an electrician and get ripped off. always start with the basic diagnostics bro. if not a fuse, look for loose connections or damaged wires,faulty switches and so on. have a little look around yourself at first. and if you have diagnosed the problem, then you will know what is wrong and how much it will cost to repair.

i wish i could.. its just a button----a unit, so yeah i need someones help !

Just open the fuse box for starters and take a peek at the fuses. Its a 5 min job. Or ask someone from the forum to help u.

the way the Del sol's roof rowks.. is that it the computer does a self diagnostic test before opening and closing the roof.. that's why when u press the button it doesn't work..

the most common one to die is the tilter motor.. that little "screw" device that brings the back of the roof up so the fingers can grab it... it has plastic gears inside that break over time...

u need to check for error codes...

the roof's control unit is in the trunk.. behind the covers on the driver side of the car... on the unit it has a LED window.. that flashes error codes... it will tell u what it's complaining about...

i didnt go by the steps..plus my car doesnt beep or anything so i thought something was wrong..but it works just fiiiiine :)
