Each carbon fiber rim is fabricated using a solid metal mold which ensures they are made to a close tolerance. Lightweight wheels significantly reduce the moment of inertia and drastically cut the amount of power required to turn the wheel. The Dymag carbon wheels weigh about 13.23 lbs (other documents say 14lbs) each, according to the company. Consider that a standard Porsche 18" wheel weighs about 30.86lbs.
