Does anyone by any chance know the octane levels for our fuel in Bahrain (Jayyid, Mumtaz)... Actually, who gives a crap about Jayiid..!?! anyone know the Octane Level for Mumtaz fuel in Bahrain? I remember having a link to a website that used to claim it was 91 Jayyid, 95 Mumtaz but I lost that link... Anyone has it..!?!

... Any help is appreciated!

my father works at bapco..

He asked the head chemist there.. (a british dude who does quality control)

Jayyid is 91 RON
Mumtaz is 95 RON

that's when it leaves bapco in tankers..

as for when it arrives in the gas station and gets watered down.. who knows..

Does it actually get watered down, I have my doubts, or did you just use that as a figure of speech .. !?!?!

yeah i was just joking man..

i dunno if they really do tamper with it... but if fuel does sit in storage a long time.. it can go bad...

The reason I'm asking is because I'm having a tuner in the states tune my PCM and he has stressed on that I need to have a 160 degree thermostat and use fuel of at least 93 RON.. The thermostat is on it's way and I know I've read that our mumtaz is 95 RON but I just needed that to be verified..! I can't remember the link I read that info off... I think it was bahrain unleaded or something of the sort but my guesses today haven't lead me anywhere..!

Thanx 4 the info!

This Question has been brought up numerous times and some ppl say one thing other say different.
Isnt there somewhere we can check if it actual is 93 or 95?
Ppl working at fuel stations will say anything to get u off thier backs anyway. Maybe the only way to go for sure is VP
I mean They cant even tell us what the weather will be like, u think they can tell us what our fuel will be? :vader:

Mumtaz 95 RON
Jayyid 91 RON

www.unleadedbahrain.com is expired.

The US use PON octane which is: RON + MON devided by 2 = PON
But the Americans just call it "Octane" Instead of PON.
Bahrains 95 RON is US's 92 PON octane level and Bahrains MON Mumtaz is 89 which is 95 RON. Make sure if your tuner knows you're using 95 RON, and not the calculation of gas they use in the states.

In european countries, they retain the good stuff and export the crap stuff! In this part of the world, it's the other way around.

bump on what seems a tense topic...

I can't believe the don't sell some quality fuel over here. Look at the cars that come out of the showrooms!! its really too bad.. even a stock evo has a 98+ only sticker on the inside of the gas flap.

There must be a way to make a petition to get some of the 98 they export to other countries. I'm 100% sure everyone will sign it (yeah i'm dreaming I know)
:ranton:

Ok so has anyone got concrete facts about the fuel here...
95 mumtaz is like 91 in the states I read a few times on here... is that true?

Most importantly, where is the best and busiest petrol station in bahrain to ensure there always fresh gas there?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.....

Dxbtune

yeah 95RON =91 PON

they even write 91 and 95 RON on some of the gas pumps now..

as for good gas

stick to the Bapco branded stations..

they are checked more closely then the other stations..
