Most likely, the gears arent meshing properly. What kind of noise is it? Is it whining? Or is it clatering?
And if its brand new, maybe the teeth havent started to mesh properly yet, because they arent built 100% perfect during production. Thats why we have break in periods.
Best thing to do, open it up and have it checked. It might have not been installed correctly.
Good luck :)

Thats a bit strange. I would expect a little bit of whining from the diff gears till their break in period is over, and the gears will start to mesh properly. Maybe it wasnt installed properly, and a bearing is whining somewhere, due to lack of lubrication. On the diff, there will be a tapered roller bearing on each side, they might not be getting lubricated suffiently. You also have the gears themselves. Maybe there is too much distance, and the teeth arent aligning the way they should.
I do advise you check it properly. And best thing, go back to the garage who installed it, and ask them whats wrong. They installed it, so it could be their fault.
Or it could be a manufacturers defect, and you might be able to return it upon warranty.

I bet its a richmond set of ring and pinion, they are well known for this problem, what is the ratio? 4:10?

who installed it to u?
take it to engineer garage or to m3amar to take a look at it, if the istallation is good and nothing is damaged, replace the oil to Motorcraft deff fluid and aditives, it should calm it down, but richmonds in general are noisy, thast why i use motive.

It was probably was installed wrong or you did not do the proper running in.

I have a feeling it wasnt installed properly, and the gears arent positioned properly, or adjusted correctly. Expect alot of backlash once you open the diff to inspect it. What i would adivse, is you stop using the car untill you find out what is exactly wrong. Its a ticking time bomb, and your about to waste a brand new diff, because of it not being installed correctly.

alot of ppl install new ring & pinions and they suffer from this problem.. and if its just a whins, then it is bcuz of the oil u used..
