seems like we have a winner for 2008, for it's price and performance, I'd be pretty sure that we will see GTR's more than the ZO6's or 911's :thinking2 but I'm not sure about the price maybe it's a rumor! here is another quote from an older news

GT-R lifts a wheel at Nürburgring
After six long years since the Nissan GTR Concept was first unveiled in October 2001, the wait is now only months away, with the public and market debut at the Tokyo Motor show this October. Production is set to commence immediately after its debut with first Japanese deliveries occurring simultaneously throughout the winter. Sales in the U.S. and Canada are set to start in the Spring of 2008.

The GTR is expected to be available in three different model levels. Despite our previous reports of a 4.5 liter V8 engine delivering 450hp, it is now commonly known that it will be a 480hp twin-turbo V6 engine in the standard base GTR as well as the middle level GTR V-Spec. They will be priced at roughly $57,000 and $67,000 respectively. The range topping EVO version with the same VQHRTT engine as the standard and V-Spec models gets a power increase up to 530hp while losing 220 lbs. from the body for an unbelievably inexpensive price of $94,000.

IF it's right , (because it's a test car and the pictures are spyshots , how did they stopwatch the lap time ? )

if it is right , and i don't belive it really , it's faster than the Edo Porsche 996 GT2 RS , the GT-R has 100 less HP , the porsche is Lightweight , 12XX KG !!!

BTW , anybody saw BestMotoring video that compares 911 turbo on the Nurburg with the GT-R ? it was almost the same distances , the total difference may be 10 seconds at most !

how come this GT-R with 100 less hp and almost the same weight get this lap time ?

i love the GT-R , but this info ? i think it's fake

ya,,, thats what I thought about too! it's really tough to pass or at least keep up with the GT2 RS, unless that the new GTR is super fast around the ring corners :sperm: due to it's new 4wd system ( was it called ALTEES-4WS somthing ?? ) and it also has 7 speed sequensial (sp?! :D ) gearbox, which I think that lap time is for the EVO version which is tuned to 530hp and 220lb lighter than the other 2 version
and regarding BMI video, was it between the 911 and the R34, or R35 !

bas i dun think the list for the best times are right....Soren Rehman, onws the secound best time in a 700+hp, Track spec 350Z... and its not mentioned... it was quicker than the carrera GT...

Regardless... the GT-R is gonna be quick, plus the awd system is what allows it to be quicker than the rest such as Z06 and the GT2..
