Good morning all…
Just needed to share this problem with me and BATELCO and I’m looking for advisees and feedbacks please…
It all started around 2-3 years ago when I had a GSM of what they call it now Value Time Service and I had a bill worth 90 or so to pay and due to some difficulty’s I couldn’t Pay it… so they kept charging me so It was fine with me BUT Then the STOPED sending me my bill and I discovered that my number belongs to someone else.
now after 2 years I got a call from some sort of a lawyer ( A VERY RUDE B*%CH) telling me to pay 300 BD and when I told her ok fine I’ll pay it on installments NOT MORE then 20 BD per month since the number don’t belong to me basically I’ll be paying for something that doesn’t belong to me any more, well her respond was no that’s not enough at lease 40 per month in a VERY RUDE WAY.
The thing is I am a working student and I pay for my own university fees since I have a retired father and I have a loan from the bank. SO what can I do in this case ????
Keeping in mind she’s calling me almost every day…

from my point of view u cant do anything. a have a lawyer friend and we talked about almost same thing happend to u ,, no use the only way is to pay other wise the case will go to court they will say how much canu pay based on ur salary and the bank loan they will set a % then u have to accpet it it might be below 40BD or above 40BD it all depends on ur salary and the % of cut for the bank loan

if they kept charging u the monthly rent with the number being with someone else and under their name, then YOU can take them to court. cuz the number is not yours anymore and they are STILL charging you for it. plus, you have to get a copy of the bill if it reached BD300 under YOUR name or the new owner's name. cuz they cant charge u once the number is with someone else as u know.

how did it go from 90 to 300?

is there interest accrued?


if it does goto court... and u lose u have to pay their lawyer fee's and court fee's also..


see if u can renegotiate

tell her to give you a full break down of the phone bill first, and tell her you will pay based on that. see the full details, what are they charging you for exactly. if the phone was disconnected then they cant charge you the regular monthly rental, but should be charging you a disconnected fee instead. start with that and see how it goes from there.

after that when you speak 2 her, dont bother with how rude she is, just tell her, i can pay this much per month, you take me to court, im a student nto working, the amount isnt gonig to change. batelco would much rather have it settled outside court than take you to court btw

ask for a breakdown of the bill, see till when it was under ur name. this amount u'll have to pay. otherwize, just like BlackIS said, let it go to court, and see what could happen once u explain ur situation.

Let them bring hard evidence for you first. A break down of the bill is very helpful, and will help you track down the spending on the bill.

By the way, have you met her? Is she cute? I have a thing for secretaries and lawyers you know :naughty: and i like arrogant b1tches! Hook me up if she is single :D
