Bahrain Roads !!!

they seem to be getting worse day by day. Just yesterday morning, I was driving a good 100km/hr or so on an 80km road. Naturally, it seems that this speed isn't sufficient for everyone and there has to be some sort of idiot who sticks to your butt and keeps trying to get you to move out of his way. Now, there are cars on the slower lane, so I can't exactly move out of the way, so he stays stuck to my back bumper. The road was semi-busy so I decided to ignore him; I couldn't turn, and I was already driving faster than the speed limit after all.

After a minute or so, I started to approach traffic stopped at a red light. I had about 200 meters or so to stop, so I started slowing down; the guy behind me decides this is the perfect time to overtake and speed up, although the cars were very obviously stopped right in front of us...

And so he turns, speeds up and overtakes me, and drives right into one of the cars stopped at the red light :S It wasn't a very serious accident since he did slam on the brakes at the last minute, but it caused considerable damage nontheless.

I'm sorry to say, but we have a bunch of real idiots on the road. Besides delaying himself from whatever the hell he was late for (or was he just driving like an idiot for no reason?), and putting himself through the trouble of having to sort out the insurance, take the car to get it fixed, etc, he just burdened other people with the same problems through no fault of their own. Thankfully there were no serious injuries caused in this situation, but there could have been.

Can we find a solution for people who are careless and wreckless? With the increasing number of idiots on the road, any suggestions would be well appreciated.

Left lane is always for overtaking and it's totally wrong to do it from the right (slower lanes). It's been proven that overtaking from the right is one of the main reasons for accidents and wreckless driving. Look at europe, the fast lanes are never blocked, it's used for evertaking only and no matter what the speed of the guy infront of you, he will move!

Remember, you have two choices:

1. Squeeze yourself back in the middle lane which means slowing down, signalling, and attempting to find a gap in teh middle lane ( and you know how other drivers are when they seee you wanting to get in front of them? )

So i decide to speed up but stay within reasonable speel limits cause if there is a speed trap, I will get screwed, not the idiot behind me!

anyways, the point here is about the highways, e.g. Shk. Khalifa highway and Shk. Isa highway. and if ur gonna talk about those sixwheelers and trucks then they are a danger to the public as u know it. further more, they should be banned from highly occupied roads during rush hours.

2 - what if someone (a relative) just had a serious accident, and was dying in the hospital??

3 - what about if you've been late to work for couple of days, and you got enough warnings with a last warning not really far from this day, but it happend that u had a triffic jam somewhere where it delayed u a bit, but you still have to reach work before being accounted. (putting in mind that they won't accept any reason u give, even if it was a natural disaster).

i disagree with this. sure, you have your situations, but then you start causing dangers on the road for other people because you have a problem?

if theres a fire truck, ambulance etc, these people are trained, or are chosen based on their driving skill. im not about to accept some amateur speeding around in the road and putting my life and my families life in danger because he couldnt organize his time to leave the house earlier to catch his bloody flight

in the above situation, the left lane wasnt "blocked" 3ala goltek. if youre driving above the speed limit on a busy road, with cars on your right, do you consider that "blocking" the left lane?

all in all, drivers in bahrain need to be educated. they r so fackin selfish. E.g
When the lights turn green on a busy road, they wait forever to go and when they do go, they leave a gap of at least 4-6 cars ahead of them. When u get to the lights, its turned red again.
Solution to all this is to get a motorbike. and if any driver fools around with you or endangers your life, then his antenna, side mirrors etc are at your mercy......

Now, there are cars on the slower lane, so I can't exactly move out of the way, so he stays stuck to my back bumper. The road was semi-busy so I decided to ignore him; I couldn't turn, and I was already driving faster than the speed limit after all.
In this case I just step on the brake so the brake light turns on to scare the **** out of him!
HAHAHAHAH I did it once to some idiot and I heard OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO3 and white smoke coming out of his tires :lol:

I dont ride my bike on hot days..but if these things happen to me i have my way of dealing with it.
Not long ago i was rushing to work after being called off a standby. going on the new muharraq bridge, i approached a guy on his mobile doing maximum 60kmh on the left lane. I was honking and flashing to get his assss to the middle lane and he simply ignored me. i knew he did cause i saw him looking at me in his rear view mirror. i managed to overtake him and came in front of him doing maximum 30-40kmh. he was honking and all that stuff and just left him there until he went to the middle lane and other speeding cars replaced him behind me. He was absolutely fuming..
Oh to be honest some guys need to be kicked the **** out off...

Why is it, that in Bahrain, there is so much talk about building this and that.. and then many years later, they either start it or cancel the project and no one hears about it ever again?

While in Dubai, the first time you hear abuot it, the project has already started!!!

I mean.. look at Garhoud brodge. It has only been about 4 years since the traffic congestion has been escalating rapidly, and look now. The new gigantic bridge is 70% done already!!!!!

And here we are at Sitra Causeway, where I know for a fact that in 1987, it went through a soild test and foundation test, re-enforced and was given an extended life span of 10 years only taking into consideration the traffic increase linearly.

How do I know that? Cause my sister was in charge of that job.

Its 2007 now and no one has bothered to even worry abuot whether the bridges will hold or not.... let alone build another one to ease traffic!!! can yo ufuuuckin beleive that????

All our efforts are to increase the sums in certain peoples accounts. Whats in it for me? I work for myself, not my country. I have yet to take anything for free from this country, and i hope i never depend on it on anything.

The government is only good for burying the sea and selling it, cutting peoples incomes due to doing that.
