Hold on a minute there bro... correct me if I am wrong! Quadro drive in the wet causes more understeer than rear wheel drive? Keep in mind that moth cars have traction control!

Regardless of the traction control, and the Quadro drive, he could still have been driving the car beyond its capabilities. Maybe he over steered, and corrected it by opposite lock, and ended up in a tree!
