ZO6 405hp VS Ferrari 360

Does anyone know who's gonna be ahead in 1km from start?

Well, I didnt see the ZO6 405hp preform! But, I have seen the 385hp ZO6, let me tell you it is something very nice!

Just a plain guess, the 405 hp ZO6 should be ahead of the 360. but it could be close! :grin:

I would say the ZO6 is faster.. but do they max out at 180mph.. the 360 hits 190mph

the ordinary C5 has a very strong start I mean less burning ...

the Z06...I've seen some Video's for it and yes that son of a gun launch's like hell.....

Let me share a thing with you... when i swaped the old LS1 with the new LS6 that is found on the 385hp ZO6 it was simply wow from what i heard from the people who tested my car at BSP... plus the Admin of BahrainCars.com now drives a 405hp ZO6 and is very impressed with the power.. keep in mind that he drives a Mod'd 996TT everyday:naughty:

I just found something related to this topic on one of the forums which might be useful..have a look at it guys and let me know what u think.

"So there I was...tooling around northwest Houston in the Z. Enjoying the sunlight which we have not seen in about 2 months of rain. Driving along, I see out of the corner of my eye, and say to myself: "Dude, that looks like a black Ferrari 360 Modena. Boy would I love to square off with him". I continue on. To my surprise, he caught up, and followed for a bit. Turn right onto Hwy 6, then up comes THE traffic light... Could the timing be any better?

We are both one the line. His girl in the front seat. I glance over, in admiration of a ~$150,000 "I-really-can't-afford-it" piece of Italian art work...the guy give the "nod" (hey check me out)...I nod back (I see you, go USA?)... Then the insult, he revs up 400hp, with another nod (You ain't $hiz)... I reply with the only come back there is..." Competition mode, AC off, radio off, and VRROOM...MY 400hp" (I'll spank you, your chick and the car you ride in).

Now here is the funny part. I figured that if he wins to third gear, he impresses his girl, goes home, gets laid. I don't mind helping out my fellow bretheren...So I lost to something that costs three times more than mine. Big deal. But...If I win, wow. Check me out. Girl dumps him, girls flock to me... Chalk one more up for me and my fellow Z's. And in front of his girl.

Anticipation...its a dog. Difficulty holding 1500rpms. Then a distraction...There was a third player...some guy in a 3/4 ton chevy extended cab, reving his engine too. Screaming at me..."Hey I got a Z just like yours. Go get him".

Here we go. The light goes green. The roar of two stalions coming to life at WOT. The squeal of the rubber in 1st gear... Dead even until I hit about 5000 rpm, I start pulling away. Powershift into 2nd...he is now a 1/2 car length behind. Powershift 3rd gear...he is now 1 car length behind...

In front of his girl.

As we roll up to the next light...I salute him for the chance encounter, as he turns off. As for the chevy...he eventually caught up, yelling "he ain't nothing!". Wherever you are at dude, you are my witness.

the ZO6 does it in under 4 sec (3.9sec) ..and quarter mile of 12.4sec..

why do ppl judge a car based on a 1KM race?

i'll go take a Datsun 180B put a RB25DET and rear diff with some fat slicks into it and it'll be a rocket.. Does it make it a better car? NO

why doesn't anyone ask about braking? handling? cornering? Skid pad? lap times? O-100-0?

there's so many other factors that make a car a "good" car or a "super" car....

z06 might win in the straight line 1kilo .. but put them on a track and i bet the outcome would be very different!

I agree in a turning race it would be a REAL GOOD match.... of the american cars the vette is amongst the best in handling. But, at the same token... you can pimp out a Ford Escort to out handle a vette... and again it would be a good match in a turning race against this ferrari... It's not nessecarily the car it's what the car can and can't do as you had mentioned.

The Z06... does out handle most american cars... sucha as the viper which has a v10.... but the cars performance is about the same in terms of strait running. and a Z06 vs an S600 (although not american) in a turning race would be a joke... even tho the S600 has a V12. It can not handle like a vette in the turns. I would even put money on the vette in a strait run vs an S600 stock-stock.

But, if you are talkin best all around performance... my personal fav.. is the Lotus GT1. Said to be the best handling car in the world... it's strait runs aren't impressive... but that isn't what I like about the car... I'm all about the handling.. I like to push the car to it's limit... in handling.. so I can see what it can and can't do.

Altho a fast accel time... the car can not take on a Ford GT90.. or a McLaren F1 in a strait run. But, it's the turning race that changes the competativeness of the car. The Lotus GT1 has a V8... and can keep up with the GT90 and F1.. which both have V12's and have set SOME of the standards for being the fastest domestic cars in the world.

The Z06 is known for superb handling as well as strong strait times.

Anyways... just my opinion.

Curious.... u can go from 0-100 mph in 4.2 s but, you have a 12.4 1/4 time.

What kinda car... weight... specs.. etc... because I can show you a 96 Impala SS with Nos, that can do 1/4 in 9.98 s using 4.10 gears but it's 0-100 is probably not the same as yours. The Impala SS is about 4200lbs in weight. So a 9.98 1/4 time is VERY impressive for the car. Based on the weight for a 10 second 1/4 mile car that weighs 4200lbs you need an end speed of about 135 mph.

Which is why I'm asking about your car.. cause if u can go 0-100 in 4.2s I would think u can hit 10's if not less in 1/4 mile... but i guess it depends on the car.

I've seen a video of a Twin Turbo'd Firebird vs a Mustang.. which I believe was also turbo'd... The mustang tore up the firebird by 2 car lengths for about 3/4's of the track.. but the firebird beat him in 1/4 run almost a car length.

It's a cool video to watch.. I'll see if I can find the link for it.

Not sure, but I think he gets 5.92 seconds in 1/4 mile

I'm not sure which car won this race... but.. note the gate lights... the firebird was held back about 1/2 a second.
