tough luck with that with all the holidays you'll have to confirm it with the embassy. it's in the diplomatic area

i think you can also get a schengen visa in the country you're visiting...
like if you're going to France, you get a French visa here and get the schengen in France... im not sure though

getting the visa will depend on the country you're going to. for example, if youre going to france only you cant get the visa from the italian embassy. if you're going to a number of places, go to the embassy of the country you're going first to.
it shouldn't take 2 weeks usually unless its a ridiculously high season. last schengen visa i got was for italy and it took about 2 or 3 days, and that was during the summer. as for the requirements, its something around 50 dinars (varies up and down), as well as confirmation of your hotel bookings, tickets, letter from your employer, bank statements, etc. the exact list of what you need you can get from the embassy; call them up.

and the travel insurance; you can get it from places like BKIC or most of the other insurance companies. just give them the period you're going for and where you're going. it shouldnt cost more than 20 dinars or so for a few weeks

sparkling; some embassies are fine with it, but some embassies wont agree; i know someone who wanted to go to italy and went to the french embassy; they wouldn't give him a visa, they asked him to go to the italian embassy.
and zex, the french embassy really is one of the worst in terms of service... really really bad... iv heard so much bad stuiff about them. i dunno why they take two damn weeks... i got my italy visa in about 3 days i think
