ee walla

the problem in getting used to it are :

-No right click , just think about the diff without it (but they have a good solution for that and mac never gave up and do it like Microsoft :D

-you have to install Open Office instead of Microsoft office (but you can find mac supported microsot office ) , and so on for other programs , you have to download the Mac version

if you want to install Windows , then have it WITh the MAC OS X , so you can use both

and I LOVE MAC , it's a perfect environment except that maybe you'll have some compatibility problems with microsoft applications and files (some but can be solved)

i'd say go for it

like SARZ said, i never got viruses, never got stuck or slowed down knock on wood, never formated it, and i do not use windows on it at all, and most ( 95% of programs that r for windows r available for Apple )

about getting used to it: it took me exactly 1 week, its very easy even easier than windows ibwaayed and more fun!

ZEX, about the right click : u have to go to System Preferences to customize the pad for right click/double tapping/scrolling/etc

features like Expose/Spaces/Spotlight are cool stuff too, check em out ( search Wikipedia for full info or Apple.com )

and get one in white, it looks much better than the black one.

the specs u listed r the exact same as the one i have, im using Mac OS X 10.4.11 version at the moment till i switch to Leopard next week, cant wait!!!

Don't get it now. Wait till the end of January, they will be introducing the redesigned Macbooks with Leopard.

Once you go Mac, You'll never go back....

You just need one day fiddling around the system to get to know the laptop more IF not in a couple of hours.

I have a crap load of mac experience, Mini mac's, power books (alum and titanium), iMacs, the heavy guns Power Mac with 4 cpu's, hell i've even used Xserve's!

i'm telling ya.. Mac can do everything a windows machine can.. but not vice versa..

Just buy yourself a mighty mouse (apple's own mouse).. it has left and right click and a 360* scroll ball/wheel which is amazing..

as for office.. Microsoft makes Office X for mac.. which has everything u need.. excel, ppt, word, acess, outlook(called entourage in mac)

as for availibility check with iMachines and Apple center both..

personally i'd go with a MacBook Pro myself..

You can find softwares for the Mac very easily and you don't REALLY need softwares cuz the new lepoard has everything you need and you get everything you need for free...Even checking if you've got flights in your area etc etc...
