live view shooting it was the best feature ! the for the old eos 350d,400d user indeed !! :P but for the new user they have many difference over here !

the 18-55 lens isnt expensive... even brand new its probably like 80$ or something from amazon... thats like 25 dinars new

Actually a member has already got dibs on my cam.. and i gave him a great deal i think... and yes it includes the kit lens and a little more as well.

Btw if the 400D price reduces too much when the 450 comes out (which i doubt.. :)).. then well i'm in no hurry to sell.. i'll keep them both :D.. only reason i even thought of selling was coz i did not want to collect cameras like i do auto parts :p.

the a700 is a damn good entry level SLR. the best thing about it is the anti-shake feature which you wont find in most other cams. theres no live view though, which is what makes the 450 attractive (but again, it doesnt have anti shake, but the lens it comes with does)

i'm surprised that so many like the live view.. i personally dont miss it one bit.. got so used to the view finder and how comfortable it is that i cant imagine not using it!

how about the canon EOS 40D vs the 450D?

i like the live view because some of the shots i take need the camera to be at weird angles and i cant stick my head behind it all the time... especially very low tripod shots

anyway, otto; the 40D has a higher ISO setting (3200 vs 1600 in the 400 and 450D), and a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000 vs 1/4000. Max framerate is 6.5fps vs 3 in the 400D, and 3.5 in the 450D. battery life is also longer.

besides that, there's not really anything major in the D40. its better for sports photography and low light conditions, obviously because of the above settings.

oh, and the 40D is about double the price of the 400... which should mean its a good 60% or so more expensive than the 450
