i've been to dubai a couple of times and one thing i cannot understand is whats the driving force there? or how do they sustain this growth , on what basis?

its all due to the rulers themselves .....along with the help of the expatrites who take up a freggin 82% of the population !!

-AZ alot of expats i know, wanna move out, and mostly likely to Bahrain. Traffic is a real life nightmare, Garhoud bridge is a car park (litreally). No wonder they wanna have a second airport at Bur Dubai. I prefer landing in Abu Dhabi and driving to Dubai during weekdays. AD is much more relaxed and if you know friends there, you'll have loads of fun.

Dubai is a place where you wanna go back to again and i'm thinking of going again next weekend !!
But living there is not a good idea since its a busy town and trafic is a nightmare like most of the guys have mentioned!
but hey they are having a super sonic train soon all around UAE :D
