is it true that the M-powered E85's Transmission grinds when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear at arround 6000RPM?
I read much about it, there was an issue about the crappy Clutch Delay Valve, but not assured, others mentioned that the Trans. mounts have to be replaced with stiffer ones..
any M E85's experienced a similar issue?
I'm thinking to go M-powered AGAIN but the thrill of the stupid dealer makes me think twice after I read about that problem, it occures after 18,000 km usually. coz many Z4 owners (including 3.0si) had an extremely hard time to get thier trans. replaced by the dealer, and guess what, some of them had the same problem again!
BMW's ZF gearboxes were great when they were Auto, experienced them myself with an Gulf spec'ed E36, but with manual, I have no idea.. they were described as "imperfected" ones..
I would appreciate any info about it, at least if someone experienced it, how bad is it? is it getting worse and worse? or just reaches a point where it stays as it is?
some reviews mentioned that shifting is a bit rough with a new Z4, but it gets smoother with time.
thanks.
