Guyz im having thoughts of importing a car from the US...lets say from TX. but before that, i wanna know the difference between US Spec cars and GCC Spec cars in terms of functionality, mechanical + electrical differences and liability.
and can there be differences that cannot be changed to meet GCC specs?

GCC specs are toned down Euro specs, and are basicly rubbish, depending on the car that you are importing really, but you will rarely notice much of defrence, the only thing that I would recomend is changing the cooling system if it was not powerful enough, apart from that nothing could eb problimatic.
on the preformance side, as soon as you get an American spec car here, the first thing you do is take out all the emession BS.

GCC have no requirements.. as long as it's left hand u can drive it here legally..
But due to their stricter emissions, it will have less hp than it’s euro counterpart
And depending on the state have more complex emissions systems (smog pump, EGR, etc)
American spec cars are also heavier than euro spec due to diff crash requirements
But none of this stuff will prevent u from bringing and driving the car here tho..
A cooler thermostat maybe a good idea as preventative maintenance

Yea the cooling part can be dealt with.. first thing i thought of actually. But what i heard is that TX cars are very similar to GCC spec. i dunno if thats real or not but its what i heard.
anyhow, will they be as reliable? durable? and will US specs be of a problem when it comes to our beloved traffic department?

TX is hot, not as hot and humid as here but it is, and regestration shouldnt be a problem as long as the car meets the usuals, not radically modefide and not noisy.
