guys my 3 year+ home pc is begening to show sign of age..goin slow at times, occassionaly restarting,blue screen asking me to perform chkdsk on every start...
is there a site or can i download a software that will diagnose and repair the glitches or should i just format it?
any useful links would be helpful

restarting is a symptom of hardware faliure/malfunction ! ..therefore a format is not a complete solution ...

If it restarts by itself run a memory test to check your RAM.
For checkdesk run the desk defragmenter.
If your ram is damaged your PC might feel slower, another thing when you use the PC for quite sometime, there might be some processes that run in the background for softwares that you forgot about. Check the processes and start uninstalling the softwares you dont need.

it's probably your hard disk

i think you have bad sectors in your harddisk

not so bad actually, just lil glitches... :) or a Format at most
