Drag strip

Catering for the already established and growing sport of drag racing in the Region, the 1200m long by 18.5m wide Drag Strip is designed to host everything from street legal vehicles to the fastest Top Fuel pure dragsters. The strip has a timed quarter mile acceleration distance constructed in concrete.

how come they gonna have a drag strip for street legal cars and they don't pass inspection if you only got red spark plug wires on your car??
they did an F1 race like the other countries, why the inspection procedure and our morroor is not like them?? how come they wanna do a drag race?? should everybody buy a drag car and register it as a drag car to get in? can't anybody race in his daily driving car?
who gonna be with me if we write in the news paper?
exhaust system, headers, intake, turbo kits, engine swaps, everything should be legal if the engine doesn't smoke, so whats the problem??
since we gonna have a track, i don't think anyone would speed in the streets or race....
i got a number for a 9a7afi if we all became one hand, we'll call him and let him write in the news paper...
Sh.Fawaz have to do something here....

:thanks:

I agree and dis agree some how....

we've seen enough death lately coz of the car accidents and all, not everyone is good enough to modify his car and even qualified to drive a stock car.. they can drive cars I agree but not sport or super cars...

black z is right we have a lot of idiots on the streets. but then again, its not about modding your car blacky, its about how u drive. most of the accidents that do happen dont involve modded cars! even if u have a regular, lets say, caprice v8, you can push that thing to 180 or 200 easy, and then sooner or later ur in the grave.

so the issue isnt about modded cars, if someone can drive a modded car that goes 240km/hr doesnt mean they will be safer if they drive a non-modded one at 200km... see my point?

Most people with modded cars actually know what theyre getting themselves into though. I think we should be allowed to mod the cars, but there should be high penalties for driving like idiots on the streets, and thats the job of the traffic dept, + people like us since we have a large influence (with our car shows etc etc). People dont seem to understand speeding on the streets is dangerous. On the track however, things are controlled and you have a lot of safety issues resolved

Aryan, if you want to write anything in the newspaper i am with you 100%. Having a modified car does not make you more dangerous than that 18 yr old kid next door who just got his license and a V8.

I have an idea. Do you guys think we should launch an awareness campaign, basically a car show, and a drive around bahrain where we just cruise. We show people that even if we have fast cars, doesnt mean we will speed or do burnouts or whatever. I think something similar to this has been done before. But if we can get some sort of publicity, i think this is a good move, especially when those new kids who speed around like theres no tommorow see it...

huh!! if the traffic knew that moded cars would go for a crouse, we all gonna end up sleeping there...hahahah :laf:
i say if they gonna let us modify our cars, we won't speed in the streets, and if they see anyone of us speeding, let them double charge the ticket.... do we pay 100BD or something if we speed these days? let them do it 200BD or something like that ... i don't mind...!!
