Viper ACR destroys GTR, GT2, Z06 in 4-way comparison

August issue of Car and Driver, HORRIBLE showing for the US-spec GTR in acceleration tests. So honestly, anyone think those preproduction GTR times were't ringers? It's gone from a 124+mph trap to 111mph in a matter of months. Seems the GTR has lost a significant amount of power somehow.....It still shows the handling is tremendous because even seemingly down on power it's able to edge out the Z06 by .6 hundreths of a sec.

Z06 was slowest out of the 4 on the roadcourse. Viper was absolutly a rocket besting everyone by 4-5 seconds.

its C&D what do u expect, they always talk from their a$$. They once featured a beetle that goes 0-62 in 2.6sec, and came out second in the Ultimate shootout against Viper's, Vettes, and Porsche's!

Factory rating is not the same as the performance outside the test bench.

probably has a speed limiter 180kmph (111) if thats the case its very possible as it would cut off before the 400m mark.

only JDM's, it will de-limit itself using GPS when u r on an approved track in Japan like Tsukuba.

Still cruising but, with 35 to 40% throttle you feel the car wants to go..... 111mph is tooo low, m3 runs that.

hopefully soon will find out how fast the car is, but its really hot these days therefore you wont feel its full power until winter.....

but overall its a great car and drives, feels, and better built than the Z06. its a very different car, Z06 is pure muscle.

saw the car the other day, beautiful! mabrook, did the transmission clatter go after the 500kms run-in period? if it hasnt yet, then u gotta wait till the other 500kms r dun.

for ppl who dont know: the transmission clatter is normal and goes away after u break-in the car for 1000km, the first 500km has to be driven under 3.5k rpm, and the other 500 under 4.5k rpm. The clattering sounds exactly like the Getrag 6spd u find in the GTR34 thats hooked with a 3plate aftermarket clutch.
