NISSAN engine codes

HI GUY

I want to post some info. about NISSAN engine codes and hope you will enjoy it.

lets start :susp:

I will take the Skyline R34 GT-R engine as example
engine code is RB26DETT

part1 part2 part3 part4 part5
RB 26 D E TT


PART1: engine series
example RB VQ VG SR CA KA ......

part2: displacement
26=2.6L 30=3.0L 35=3.5L 20= 2.0L ........

part3: Valve train
D = DOHC (double over head cam)
V = VVL+DOHC (Variable Valve Lift + DOHC)
none = SOHC (single over head cam)

part4:Fuel Delivery
E = Multiport Fuel Injection
D = Direct Injection
i = Throttle Body Fuel Injection

part5: Forced Induction
T = single turbo
TT = twin turbo
R = supercharger

so let take VG30ET as example (300zx turbo z31)

VG = engine series
30 = 3.0L
none = SOHC
E = Multiport Fuel Injection
T = single turbo

2nd example SR20VET (x-trail GT, best stock 2.0L engine product 280hp)
SR = engine series
20 = 2.0
V = VVL+DOHC
E = Multiport Fuel Injection
T = single turbo

mohnissan, I didnt know that they made the sr20vet, i thought it was only sr20ve !

I hope soon to get the sr20det in a 200sx :tudevil:

sr20vet it is new it came in x-trail-200? in japan

in amerca they have the sr20ve(200hp) only so there is no much info. about the SR20VET
