hi there guys ,


so what needs to be done to the crappy 4L60e :nasty: to make it work fine! and accept some abuse ? :help: :help:


i got ( not installed yet ) :

TCI Clutches .
TCI 1-2 3-4 Bigger Servo .
Transgo Shift kit .

do i need anything else ?

alot of guys have done all of the above to thire STOCK lumina's but still manage to kill the gear !


mine is not stock :

- Full 2.5 exhaust
- Tri-y HPC coated headers
- K&N filter
- LS1-Edit
- Air Box






i'm asking about all that because my gear is showing some signs right now .....some really bad signs :mumble: ! i think if i continue driving the car the way i do :whip: :zzwhip: ,,, it will die in the next 2 weeks

well....maybe it's a bad use from all those people...

as far as I know TCI kit and the shift kit should do the job...

I got only shift kit and man it's cool....

the TCI clutchs are heavy duty not easy to destroy unless you want to burn out all the time ...

nothing is un breakable.....so even if you buy the best gear ever it can be broken depending on how you use the car ....

dont kickdown in Drive mode!!


always down shift manually if ur installing all what u mentioned.


i installed a TransGo shift kit as well .... but i didnt listen to the guyz who told me never to kickdown from D ...... and i ended up buying a WHOLE NEW TRANSMITTION!!! :crying:

but ... before u install them .... take it to the dealer to see if there's anything wrong with ur tranny ... coz u DONT want to mod it if its not 100% working!!

I know that nothing is unbreakable .. what i ment that i was looking for a heavy duty setup ... :devil3:




my car have done 106000 Km's so i think the gear kept up very good with my driving style... :haha:


Silver Arrow .. i dont need to down shift manually ( and most of the guys i know dont) i got over that problem by adjusting the shift & downshift points using the LS1-EDIT program .

yea ... LS1-Edit is a good way too :)


but i still say take it to the dealer to check it up ... just to be on the safe side before u mod ur tranny :)

the problem is that the streets in Riyadh are sooo soft ( i used to get sideways when i kick down from 120 !!!! and that when my car was stock!!!!!!!!)


some times i wonder if they put Vaseline on it !!!


so the 1st & 2nd gears in an M6 while racing someone from 0 will be useless ,,,,,



but the T-56 with a 3.91 or 4.10 diff gears ( was & still ) my dream.... M6 is always more fun to drive ... wella ?

and there are two types ( Borg warner & TREMEC ) and the better is borg warner ..! right ?



hey Silver Arrow when you get your gear ( inshallah ) take me for a spin .....


maybe i'll go with the T-56 after all !

when i busted my 4L60E the last time .. i was going to fit a Manual insted .... but the wekala didnt bring the M6 ... only the regular 5 speed moded for the police!! (btw, i busted it and fitted a new one while i was in qatar :D)

plus ... i need to reprogram my PCM for the T56 ...


and, from ur experience here in bahrain ... do u think a Manual is a good idea for our roads?? :driving:


so if i'll get it ... i need to get a second car first ... coz there's no way im driving a Manual in heavy traffic :blink:
