everyone feels the same way man... but what can you do! many have tried to overpower it (2Connect, MTC, LightSpeed, etc...) but many have failed... it sucks that no one is putting a proper effort in making a good internet service!!

I cannot believe I am paying for a 256kb/s speed, the same amount as I paid for a 10MB/s connection which came with cable tv and a free landline.

I was thinking of making a committee, where we will make careful studies of TRA regulations and what services should be applied nowadays...

Batelco annouces from time to time about new internet services while they fail to mention that their so called speed is only applied localy, for example: you call'em and tell them that internet is slow, they ask you to download somthing from a local speed test website.. WHO gives a rat ass about local..if this is the case then they should go advertising local internet speed..

I say we form a grp of knowledge IT and PR and make a statment that will go live, I have done few phone calls and I can arrange TV intreviews, newspapers articles etc...

I just need to form a grp and do some meetings to make a complete study and see what we can come up with.

its either this or this thread will be completely worthless...

then you have no idea whats going on my friend...Zain cant do sh!t without batelco..

some questions must be raised like, is Batelco is being properly aduited?

Is TRA sitting back in offices or actually take some responsablity and make research about the internet services in Bahrain and compare it to other countries?

I have seen amazing figures on boycott batelco website in what Batelco has earned since 1996 all the way to 2006, net profit figures are insanely massive and with such money Bahrain network should be more far advance, to serve the public with better and I mean WAY better internet connections.

count me in your group if it was formed. Regarding profits, I believe most of Batelco's profit comes from mobile service and the commercial sector. Residential ADSL doesn't earn them much profit (except for their 10BD package) so I don't think there will be a big improvement anytime soon.

No bro, we have our independent WiMAX network which offers you’re a high speed connection and more bandwidth
Few days back I launched the New WIFI device that comes for FREE with your new subscription, its limited edition
2connect, lightspeed, and others are using Batelco’s line, so if the network fails wit Batelco, it fails with others, and the only thing you will benefit from them is the price and the offer, everything else is the same in terms of speed and connection

Trust me, try and see. Ask friends and people who used the service and ask for their recommendations, if they didn’t agree, then don’t go for it

the other day i called them and told them that i dont get the speed im supposed to get.. and the answered "well, we didnt promise u'll get that speed EVERYTIME, we said (Up To).. that means u'll get lower speeds at any given time" .... now tell me they are joking!? cuz this is the first time i hear about getting a package and not being able to use the speed u bought!!

Heard good and bad feedback regarding your service. One thing was common amongst all your subscribers is that your wimax equipment and voip is not that good. I really hope you do better for our benifit.

Oh yeah one more thing, I believe best option now is those little ISPs who bought wholesale packages from Batelco. You basically get the same batelco package for a lower price! cant see anything beating that at the moment.

mmm ... do you want to feel more $#@$%% ?
I was just reading at a news site about the internet services @ japan
they have a company called KDDI
10Mbit/s ...... 16 BD
100Mbit/s .... 24 BD

you think thats good ?
well ... they don't !! they are going to offer a new service !!

1Gbit/s fibre optic for 20 BD per month !!!!

now my 512 Kbps connection for the same price sounds really crap !!

but still ... I only demand a good service and more band. !!!

well, i have done some research about WiMAX, the only benifit we get out of it is that we can get internet wherever we are at broadband speed without the need of cables! including some VoIP protocols!

in other words, zain is same $hit as well as the new comers to the market!
I use zain's ego, it is so phucking stupid, take it all the way from their srvc to the help desk!

I am an IT dude, and I know we face some $hit every once awhile! but batelco is facing $hit every phucking moment!
they just paid some huge amount of money to buy some large screens from "Mitsubishi" just to monitor every little download and request in Bahrain...

TRA? they phucken fail, the only thing they do is to cancel every new offer saying it is not licensed! yah, ripping us off is licensed!

BIX (Bahrain internet exchange)? the only thing you do is $hiting routing efficiency and fault-tolerance.

I dont know how the phcuk we are considered to be one of the best in telecommunications srvcs in the ME! ME, seriously, go get a life!

the speed is up to 2Mbps, but you shouldn’t get below 1Mbps to be fair
speed is variable due to the conjugation

so if i pay batelco 10bd more, i can get a steady 2Mbps connection... rather than Zain's variable connection?

even batelco is the same, no one can guarantee you a fix internet speed, unless you have the dedicated corporate internet which is BD2000+ and that’s providing you with a potion from the network only for you
but still, whenever you try our speed, your will never want to leave it, downloading will be your new hobby ;)

Just before I replied to the thread I lost the connection from the unreliable
ZAIN@HOME But relatively fast connection and free of charge calls to any zain@home
And 50% off to zain mobile and almost local rate in Saudi and other countries.

i already have the 48BD package plus batelco's 40BD package...but at one of my relatives got Zain's 48BD package plus batelco's 60BD package. sure they complained about batelco every once in a while, but lately they wished they never got Zain's internet cuz its not as steady as batelco's. they have been using batelco's internet for a long time and NEVER got less than 2Mbps download speed. while Zain's was, well, quite moody :p
