Helo shabab, how are you, need some help with this

ive got 1994 cressida, the car is old, ok you the 1994 might have given that off, but ya3ney you know what i mean, its in fine condish atm

lately i have been getting thoughts to turn it into something else like get a new engine, tires, suspension, brake etc its RWD i might as well make use of that, atm its a slow peice of crap with 4 doors

i hate the fact that im going to look like a ricer, im not a fan of them

getting to the main point, should i go ahead with this? or am i just wasting my time, and if i were to do all the upgrades i listed above how much would they run me

im really not the type that would show off, i would ripp people apart who do, its just too annoying, and i really dont wanna be my own enemy.

thanks

Waish bro, welcome to the forums
So what's your goal? Performance? Looks? Or what? How much are you willing to spend on it?
Some might think it's a waste of money and you should get yourself something else, others think it's something unique if it's well done. So before you do anything, make sure it's what you want.
There are a few good looking and fast Cressidas around, very few though..

hey, thank you man =)

well all performance actually thats all i have in mind, ill go as far as 4k if i think its worth it, i do realise i could get other RWD cars easily, that may be in better condition and perform way better etc, i only have 2 probs with that 1) that 4k is not gonna come all at once but probably over 4-6 months, ok that sounded better in my head
2) i already have the cressida

hmm... come to think of i could just leave the cressida, save 4k get another car and upgrade that, i just need some one to tell me weather or not i should stick with this or just let it go, i know that its my descison and it all depends weather or not i like the idea and the car, so here goes- i do like the idea, im ok with the car, but in the end its a cressida, and in the end im gonna look like and idiot showing off -.-

this is very confusing......

Interceptor i need a favour from you bro, tell me weather or not i should do this?

1)Green light?
2)Red light?

Thanks

mr hemsh i think you have a very special vehicle. Ditch the engine and get either a 1UZ-FE (Lexus LS400) or a 1J from a Supra

fix up the exterior and interior fashionably and ur set to go

thanks man, do u know where i could find any one of those engines

dont know much about cars, but from what i know those engines are pretty darn strong (with a turbo ), so i'd have to change the gears so that will handle the power+ i need to get better if not bigger tires so that ill get less wheel spin and more acc, stronger engine= more speed- so i need to get better brakes to handle the dec, so basically you have sparked the devil within me FOXXX

hmm.... me think of evil plan master :-

Strip the car down to its stockings, some good weight reduction- remove all seats, leave 1 for myself a light weight becket seat, remove all un neccesary compnents, spare tire, replace stuff with lighter parts, better tires, better brakes, new light weight rims, Good air intake, exuast system, get a turbo replace it with a manual transimision, work a bit on restoring its condish. (PLAN A)

(PLAN B)
new engine one of the ones you listed, turbo, exuast, intake, tires, brake, [no weight reduction] and like you said
'' fix up the exterior and interior fashionably ''

what do you say? i think im pushin it with plan A for a daily drive '' i wanna listen to music :( ''

btw will the car be fast enough to do any damage to other ricers on the road, i dont know much or anything at all about cars, what i written above are just from what i have been reading on the net, trying to learn these stuff.

thanks
you guyz are very helpful and kind.

calm down

have a look around garages and junkyards and look for scrapped LS400s with engine and tranny intact. Don't turn the car into a racer with turbos and some other weird shyte or else you will make gr8 friends with the police (in a sarcastic way)

If you pull this off you are gonna gona have a sleeper of a cressida with V8 power, just remember too much power is like a drug. I got a V8 and I floor it with the windows down just to hear that roar.

check out www.lextreme.com for swap details and info on the engine

Before you do anything, make sure the car is in excellent condition. Regardless to the engine and transmission if you're swapping them. Plus check how much it's going to cost you according to your budget. Obviously it usually costs more as you get deeper in your progress. Whatever you wanna do, just plan it right.

Rez, swapping a V8 into Cressida will still make him and the police great friends anyway.

Himish, you should be aware of registration problems with the Muroor if you're swapping another engine.

Although if you're thinking about swapping, a 1jz-gte with stock twin turbos, which I think suits your car more, with a manual transmission and LSD, would be nice. Just keeping it healthy and stock with simple mods here and there. Get decent suspension with lowering and a set of wheels. Work on the exterior and interior the way you like.
These are just personal ideas and opinions though.. It's your choice.

Don't waste your time and your money..

Save up the 4k and buy a better car...

(not bashing the cressida, only saying what I think is right)

if you really want to keep the cressida and have fun, I say spend around 1k on it and save the rest for a DAILY USE car, something you can depend on.

1k can do lots for the Cres. 1jz swap and a custom exhaust with a fine tune is all you need to have fun..try asking around for some good garages that deal with JDM cars and find their swap prices.

Around 500 BD would get you a proper 1JZ transplant.

I know a guy who's already done it, it's really fun to drive around!

The BOV sound alone is enough to make you happy.

Good luck!

those engines are much quieter than the stock engine on a regular cressida and considering the engine and tranny would be around 200BD (It may be more but when you think about it definitely cheaper than any LS1 build).

but before you go ahead with that compare costs of upgrading the Cressida to getting a used clean LS400

Good luck

im all about cars and mods
but there is one thing i have to ask is the car worth modifying to that level or extent. i dont think so i was meant to be a family car and it is.
spend 1k on it make it uptodate . it will look nice and run nice .

take the rest of the money find something that will satisfy ur urge for power.

the cressida dosent even look like a car for speed. try seearch for a nice ss coupe or a 01 lumina or even a skyline and build it . u will be much happeir knowing u have a car that not only performs well but also looks amazing

kareem what your saying is 100% right, and i have thought hard about it, and i have come to a conclusion which is that im gonna spend BD1000 and do what they guyz said above, ill keep it as a fun car, and ill get a another car for normal use.

great idea attack666, thanks

thanks the italian seems like a lovely car, but its just not my type, good luck with the sale

500BD thats good, ill use the rest for the tiny mods here and there and brakes, tires etc, thanks bro

well ive heard that i will run into probs if i swap the engine and stuff, but ive got that coverd its not going to be an issue.

i would love a big v8 i love muscle cars, but im might go with the 1J thing for the cressida to me a v8 just dosent suit it, but ill think about it, hmmm V8 ROOAR

i said the same thing at first GT Mustang, but i said ive already got the car, its comfy, old yes, degrading quite a bit, but its already here, no hasssel or anything just a swap like the guyz said and im set, i would love to get a R33, R34 or even a LS1 later on, and really make it special.... time will tell

Alright thanks alot all you guyz, been very helpful and i dearly appreciate it.

LS1 = 400-600bd
intake manifold swap to carb = 300bd (new)
TH350 tranny = 80bd brand new in saudi
8.8" ford differential = 80-140bd
used carb = 80-120bd
and you got your self a human killer

well i checked it throughly today, i have a problem with the acc, when i floor it makes a ''tak tak takk'' sound right behind the center console- underneath.
the car has lost its munchiness 15 years has taken its toll on the engine, its work excellent, the response is good and all, but like slow, and a bit dizzy, brakes are good, air filter is not even conected, its been breathing un filterd dust -.-

interior condish is fine, needs a bit of work here and there but nothing impossible, the outside is alright, with the antenna broken off, a few scratches on the body and side mirrors, needs some tighting and scrwing down in a few places, the suspension is good, but its lost its comfinees, tired drifting with a freind today, the car didnt do well at first, but then we were told that keeping it slow, at 3rpm or higher one the 1st gear, and then breaking the steering wheel and flooring it, was the trick

a few tries later, we got the hang off it and it was pretty freakin fun, one run put me an milemeter away from a steel pole while i tried to do a '8' drift, anywayz im still going ahead, but i need to fix the acc sound first, any body know what might be the problem?

i said ill get the car fixed up and ready, put a 1j, cone air filter, fix tiny things here and there, might put some new suspension, and after all that is done, i wanna take for a full interior clean washing etc, and then do a full paint job in black.
thanks

wait a second will it be alright to run the car long term with out an air filter, and im gonna increase the idel rpm, its too low, was thinking 1,500 what do you think? right now it idles at around 500-600

Interceptor
May 7th, 2009, 05:54 PM
^^ No idea about the acceleration sound, might be a problem with the driveshaft? You might have to upgrade the driveshaft with the engine swap anyway..

It's not healthy running the car without an air filter, I don't think fixing that would cost much.

btw, please make it real DARK black and do something with the moldings on the doors, shave or straighten them heheh..

Thug Life
May 7th, 2009, 06:05 PM
make the idle around 700-900 la etro7 akthar el sayara beterfa3 7arara 3gob and about the sound it might be the driveshaft or the differential is fuked

well im sorry i took so long, but i have been busy with exams.

im backing out of the project people, i apologize for wasting your time, but ive seen more then enough evidence to suggest that this car just is'nt worth it....

so its a no go, im going to go ahead and either get myself nice car and upgrade that, or just get a normal daily car, im not sure yet i havent made my mind, and im swamped with exams, only got a few weeks left and then ill be free, so ill keep you guyz updated with my plans, and for what its worth i appreciate all of your guyz input/advice, it means alot, thanks

oh almost forgot, i saw this weird thing in a car accessories shop,

its a small cylinder shaped thing, with a tiny gage on it, its about the size of a opened fist, and the dude there says you put it in with the intake and it will give a boost or something, i honestly didnt understand half of what he said, not coz he said words i didnt understand but becuase he dosent know what hes talking about, so like im very curious to know what it does, i cant find any info on it on the net, he calls it a ''vacum''

omg, they come with gauges now?:hmmm: i think its the turbonator bs lol if ur buying that crap u might as well try to hook up a hair dryer into ur intake,:stickpok: ull soon ask about the resistor chips .....:dot:

problem is that so many ppl watch movies like "fast n furious" and want to tune their cars (plz dont take this personal.. no offense intented). the thing is gaining true power generally needs cash besides knowledge! Power is not cheap, and these scams are... now something like a proper intake system or SAFC's (depending on the modification route) will produce results, but they are pricey.

the only reason products like these are sold, is because there are alot of posers in the world (again: no offense, at least u asked). keep asking :) many rip offs companies make those scam products.

u can buy polish, wax and mats from accessories shop, but if u want power get branded reputable parts just so u dont end up wasting ur money and hurting ur car..
