like the title says ,
am new into turbo stuff , and recently ordered HKS SSQV nah not series mod just for the fun of sound .
ok now most users in evo forums says that the after market BOV trigger the check engine light in evo x unless u recirculation it .
some of them faced no problem and some did , for who did faced the problem they used recirculation and it went fine.
what is BOV recirculation ? how it get done ? what kit we need ? is the kit available in local market ?
HELP from the turbo ppl here :beat2:

Means that u wont get the ''woosh'' sound. If i were you i would use the recirculation when you get a tune.
Running the BOV at 50/50 recirculation has no ill effects on the tune or performance.
So brother, you just wasted a good amount on nothing. You should've boughtthis (http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/?id=3942).

Wow Q, This makes me more furious with the dealer charging 2000BD for ECU mapping to get only 30 HP more in the automatic version! :S

it depends on if a car has an MAF or Map sensor
recurculation means.. when the BOV dumps the air.. it is put back into the intake... rather then to atmosphere..
in an MAF car.. when the bov dumps the air.. the engine doesn't know the air is missing.. it thinks it's still in the motor.. so it puts more fuel.. the car runs rich and can stumble and what to die for a moment..
try it out..
if u get problems.. u can buy the re-circulation kit for the HKS bov no problem..

Foga il dealer! When they told me it costs 2000BD, figa3t-ha ifwayha il 5ayes.
The Cobb AP is one hell of a bang for the buck mod. I have it on my GTR, its very user friendly. It provides preloaded maps, stage 1 and stage 2, 91 octane to race gas. Stage 1 is basically for stock engine, stock exhausts ( 55whp gain ). Stage 2 is for stock engine with exhausts ( 90Whp gain depending on midpipe ). When you pass the stage 2 tune, you can contact Cobb or any other Pro Cobb tuner to send you a custom e-tune that goes for $300 - $600 depending on what car you have. They email you the tune specifically to suit your mods. You then download the e-tune to your Cobb device, go out in it for a test, and then, you upload the data from the Cobb AP to the laptop, send the data to your tuner, he fixes and tweaks the hell out of it, then sends it back to you to enjoy 60 to 100whp+ @ the wheels.
It can also read engine codes, troubleshoots, problems you have and erase them and much much more. One thing which is also cool about the device is that you can erase the tune you have on your ECU back to stock tune when you visit the dealer for service :)

Although U hear horror stories on the forums about MAF and venting BOVs on evos and other cars, I had my BOV venting to the atmosphere with no problems what so ever for a long time, On my GT-Rs and evo, I'm using a MAP sensor now and venting again obviously with no problems cause it's MAP now
I say Vent, if you face problems, recirculate !

Mind you even in a map setup it is beneficial to recirculate... why waste good compressed charge?
On a side note, a few years back the Subaru's wrc team used the bov discharge to fill up a tank in the truck of the car with pressurized air and then used that air much like a nitrous shot.

Contrary to popular belief, the pshhh sound you want to get with a stock ECU setup = loss in power.
Why? because of 2 reasons.
-Your maf gets a particular airflow reading then it's ventilated to atmosphere temporarily leaving your car in a rich condition during shifts. The worst part of it all is that your car wont have that buttery smooth sensation between normal speed shifts because of that slight rich condition. You will also notice your car is stall happy wanting to stall out on you all the time in akward places.
-The boost you accumulated has just disappeared when lifting off the gas so now the turbo to works more to build up that boost again and that takes time and in turn is a temporary loss in power. Not to mention fouling of your plugs and damage to your cat from excess carbon.
When you have bigger setups and are running some significant boost it's important to get an atmospheric dump valve to elimintate compressor surge (blades bent and warped) and keep stress off your turbo. Thats when you need vta. Recirculating will have the same effect but on your stock setup it's generally preferred.
HKS SSQV comes with a recirculating kit for your stock setup (and is loud) once you get tuned and increase the boost go VTA. (really loud) You can even change the fins on the ssqv to make different sounds if thats what floats your boat.
