Buying new car from USA?

Hello all. With car prices in bahrain too high at the moment.. i was thinking of buying a BMW from USA or Germany. I have already checked out the prices from both those places and they are lower by alot from Bahrain. I could be wrong because at the end it might reach the same price as bahrain, thats why i want to ask if anyone on Gulfgt has bought a brand new car from USA and what needs to be done? or maybe from this website www.fleetrates.com ?

I will be in Germany soon, so i can check everything in Germany, but the prices in USA are even better for the BMW.

Please share any info. here. :)

yeah i agree about the website. and about doing a search, i dont think anyone has asked about buying a NEW car from USA, all the questions are about old cars, but once again this forum was not helpful at all! :thinking2

u'll go through alot of hassle to get a car from the US that isn't a USDM. i bought an "almost new" JDM car from the US and i ended up saving about BD2,500 (which imo isn't worth it if i was too concerned about the warranty) while i thought i would be saving at least BD4000-5000.

if i get the option to trade-in my car for a GCC Z and pay a little extra to get a full warranty, i would do it.

i suggest you buy a car from here or any nearby country (UAE, KSA, KWT, QTR).

a Beemer would cost you tons less, the coupes are around 7000 BD more here than in the US, no way can getting it here, registered and shipped be more than that...

new car used car all the same when ur buying from the U.S. The SEARCH feature is there for a reason crybaby

Besides waranty will mean jack $hit for you over here (Warranties are soo overrated)

I wouldn't suggest that you bring any expensive car from the US, take for example, if you are getting an E92-which as Fwon said that it cost 7K less than Bahrain- then don't forget the service prices and the warranty, which is gona rip off your pocket most probably!
