Why didn't you do that when you were in the UK?

Is it just to get specs or is there something a qualified doctor is needed to examine?

i used to go to Bahrain Opticians

but they're just estimating and "tuning" by checking different lenses again and again and again and after a hour , you'll still end up unsatisfied and just choose one because you got bored.

I wanted to..bas no chance!
I want an Eye test, she already wears glasses
As for my daughter an optician will not "check" she has to go thru a doc. She also wears glasses.

I feel ya! Thats what keeps happening and in the end they would up giving you something that needs you to go back 5 times and maybe replacing..thats why i opened this thread to aviod going to "testers" and go to a Pro who will do it once and thats it

I did mine at Bahrain Opticians in Bab Al-Bahrain, it took me no more than 15 minutes.

I was getting lens for the first time, and could not be happier.

Pay them a visit unless you prefer Yateem?

dude , you said it , your first time , you can't see the difference when you are getting another glasses to improve and you get the same or you get dizzy vision, headache because u change to the wrong numbers

it's like giving a Paykan to a persian , he'll think it's the best car in the world coz he never drove a corolla for example , what he needs is engine , gears , ac .

That was last summer! I have already had a recheck Sayed, and the process took even less time.

I wear my lens for a month's term on each pair, and never get headaches or sore eyes. If you were not happy with the lens rating, why did you not return them and say you got the wrong ones? This is your eye sight, and you have the right to be anal about it!

And I either spend most of a 12 hour day shift working in broad daylight, or a 12 hour night shift mostly out in weak lighting (thank the Bahrain International Airport for the ancient lighting).

My next check up is in 2 weeks :)

for adult eye test, yateem + Bahrain and al ma'3rabi are the best around, it doesnt matter a lot for adults, even in UK they got a similar procedure like we do here at yeteem ...etc .. (personally i prefer yeteem)

for kidz it is different, you must go to a Dr. i'd recommend BDF hospital, there is a good Dr. there, called Dr. Qutaiba i think.. and Dr. AlRifi is good too but i am not sure if he still works at BDF hospital ...

I know you are only asking about an eye check-up but if they ever decide to do Lasik for their eyes. I recommend someone in Beirut -- a doctor named Dr. Elias Warrak. He did my eyes and did a wonderful job - painless and 100% quick and effective.

i went to yateem or bahrain optician in citiy center.. the blue store

they use the machine first to get an approximation and then used the diff lenses to get an exact match

every person is slightly diff.. so they have to try the diff combos

They do that at Bahrain Opticians too, to get the correct estimate of what your eyes needs will be, to speed up the process.

My wife got her current ones from Yateem and isnt very happy with them, so as i see most of you are recommending Bahrain Opt?
I try that one.

About Dr. Hassan i heard some good things & horror stories as well..but those were surgery related. As i mentioned I would like to try some where or some-else for my daughter.

Yep. that is so far the best clinic for eyes in Bahrain. I have friends calling me from other gulf states asking me for his no. so they can have appointments.
But if its a matter or Lasik, U r better off in AlNoor Hospital in Tehran.. Much cheaper than anywhere else and ppl from a lot of middle eastern countries go there. They are simply the best and the most cost effective.
