after all those years, first time happens to me, just thought of sharing it with you...
using paypal, you still need to be careful who you're dealing with...
seen a guy selling some stuff at some forums and decided to buy from him, so we PM'd and had a deal for $750...
after i paid him with Paypal, he just got disappeared and never replys to PM's or e-mails.. i just missed that he was a new user and did not have any posts except the classified post.
so raised it to paypal and had to wait for 10 days and see if the seller replys... and as expected, nothing.. below was paypal reply after 10 days:

Using paypal to purchase from a website is different from buying from a member on some forum.
What Mr. Aryan did was mere transfer money into someones account. Unfortunately, the guy made away with his money.
If you buy from a website using paypal, you are filling in a legal transaction form which entitles you to a receipt as proof of purchase.
Mr. Aryan, you should warn other members of the forum you are a member of about him and give him negative feedback.

Sorry to hear that, you should have asked for a receipt!
That's what you get when ordering from a website/professional... they email you the invoice and you send the money!

I use paypal all the time, but always make sure the seller is a credible member with high rating.
On another note Ahmedi, stop using paypal and start asking sellers to send you a google checkout invoice.
Google checkout is better than paypal because they do not charge your account or card without an airway bill number.
This means that google will not pay the seller until he ships the items to you!

Yup, I got that message from paypal when buying about 2 years ago. They can't recover the money. All they can do is ban the seller and close his/her account.
Be careful who you deal with in the future

I feel ur pain bro. Happend to me 2x. It was one of those 'if it's too good to be true then it probably is'
If there is money in the account they will take it back and give what they can to u. But the scammers know this. So they usually empty the acct asap and stop using it after that. But if they scam several ppl and a file is made the police can usually catch them
sorry to hear about it. Throwing away hard earned money always sucks :(
hope they catch the bastard

Mr. Aryan, you should warn other members of the forum you are a member of about him and give him negative feedback.
he just stopped posting after he got my money, so probably it was a fake ID.
he had another post selling some wheels, and the thread said "sold" a day before i paid him... so i guess he ripped someone else as well selling him wheels!
last night i sent a PM to the website admin asking him if there is anyway by IP address maybe allow them to find out if the guy has another ID, so we may warn other people by the real ID, and maybe ban him...
didn't get any reply from the admin yet...

i will be looking into that maybe for next time....but you never know, the guy maybe ship you anything, or something has no value with tracking number, and provide it to google so they would release the money to him...

I have to disagree, my experience with PayPal has always been good!
I once got ripped off on eBay, I emailed PayPal, they tried contacting the other person but they didn't respond.
They simply credited me the amount!

Ahmed, sorry to hear about this.. always sucks when you loose your hard earned money to some jack ass..
you really have to be careful with paypal.. ive always stayed away from new forum sellers coz more often than not its too good to be true.
shihaby, if the amount is not that big (under 100$) they will usually credit you back.. but for larger amounts unless its insured from ebay you wont have much luck!
