Guys i was just wondering if anybody knows who in Bahrain sells circuit slicks, I participated in the national sprint last month on a fresh set of tires, i know stupid me, and the front ones got totally raped!!
The size i am looking for is 225/45/17, if anybody has some used ones that are in good condition i'll take'em for a good price. Otherwise it looks likr I'm going to have to rotate my tires and rape the back ones mara wa7da.
Shoot me an email on adel@gazgroup.com or you can SMS or call me on 36186699. I need'em ASAP for this coming Friday.

Hi Adel!
Here in Bahrain you can find that size tire from Michelin (Pilot Sport Cup (http://www.ziemasriepas.lv/images/upload/MichelinPilotSportCup/large_Michelin_SPORT_CUP.jpg)), expect to pay about 250 USD each.

TBH the best way to go as far as track tire in the beginning is to get some shitty Syme or Federal tires for 30 BD each and learn how the car handles before moving to a stickier, more expensive tire.
The first few times i drove on the track i was eating though tires not because of the tire itself but because of tire pressure and the way i was driving the car.

So you mean if I go easy on it on turns, they wont be eaten?
My tires are made for track use .. I wanna have fun with them but I dont wanna leave knowing that I have to change a pair atleast :(

All tires have a working temperature, if you over-heat them the molecular bonds in the rubber start to loosen up and the tire wear increases dramatically.
Another way of knowing when you are pushing the tires too much is to listen to their sound. Road tires are louder than R compounds and can tolerate higher slip angles; once they start to slip they will start screeching, that's ok, but when you push them too hard you should be able to hear a change in sound (my Michelins get louder), that means that the tire is out of lateral grip and you need to slow down because the tire is slipping.
Just drive smooth, check tire pressure and shoulder wear and you will be fine :)
