Inceased amount of spam on GGT?

Anyone notice with the new forum host were getting an increased amount of spam?
Anyone know TAG and could ask him to update the spam blocker or make registration more difficult as these BOT's are having an easy time posting junk on here

Yes man and it's getting annoying. I have to delete 5-6 threads a day myself, not including what other mods do.

It’s 5 to 10 every day for me and around 50-60 total
I spoke to TAG before and will do if any spam update or other method of letting new
Members a 1 day delay before they post on GGT

Otto, delete and ban forever and they still come up with new users I guess? I think there's a function where you can get approval from the admin's while registering and before posting?

^ yeah, that would be the best option but its allot of work maybe TAG wont want to do it. One of you need to volunteer or make the sign up process harder including a question like what does ggt stand for. Bots wont be able to figure it out.

well, i've done my part and suggested lots of solutions to prevent these things. like Admin approval and authorization for new users to post. but i guess TAG is too busy these days and Z0Sick as well. and Nossy should stop looking at clouds and NOS bottles! :p

So far everything is under control, especially after the last forum update there have been improvements to the mods tools which made spam control alot easier than before.

its soo easy i swear, just include those letter/images or a question in the registration box and ur done! i dont know why TAG hasent done that yet!

its the cause of the problem 100% as a user can register without identifying if its a human or software (bot) request .. i spoke to TAG about it several times so its ur turn now guys :bounce:

the image verification has been applied long time ago, i know cuz i checked by trying to do a new user. the only solution left here is to deny access to creating new threads/posts till approved by the admins.
