I need some help guys.
Are there any ABS plastic suppliers and/or fabricators on the island?

if you have any info, I'd be grateful

if you seek raw material try awal/gulf plastic factory.

thank you, I will check with them.
But also need someone that could fabricate the plastic into a design

depending on the type of design you will most likely need to make a mould in which teh hot plastic is injected.

If it's for a production part it's no big deal but for a one-off it would be quite expensive.

Plus i don't know if anybody does injection molding on the island.

What are you trying to make? Would CF be suitable?

you might want to consider fiberglass as well

the boat guys in bahrain are quite good

for now it will be a one-off piece. If I like the result I could go with production of small numbers. CF is suitable, but expensive no?
I am not so sure about fiberglass its heavy and brittle.
I'm trying to make a bike race fairing

do u have a fairing they can copy?

or will it be from scratch completely?

CF is expensive when it's vacuume cooked in an oven and stuff

if u just use plain resin it's not.. (not is it as strong of course)

but if it's from completely scratch.. u'r going to have to make a wire frame or something.. to mold on top of

Yes I have a modified fairing that can be copied, so it won't need to be made out of scratch. As a matter of fact you got me thinking about fiberglass, which I could consider for a first trial, before doing the more expensive stuff. I just need to find the place to do it.

Since it's not a structural part you can get away with fiberglass. They'll need to make a mold (which you can also use if you want to make a cf part).

If you google it you will find plenty of resources on how to make molds and custom fiberglass parts.

I made so many FG parts in Bahrain to save weight on Camaro's/Corvettes/Honda's, all the work was carried out by Al-Mishkhas in Salmabad next to Master Exhaust, I highly recommend them for any fiber glass fabrication.

on an LT1 Camaro, we did hoods (40lbs+ savings), Hatch (25lbs+ savings), and I'm sure he made doors and fenders as well. they also made full front clips for Honda's and 4th Gen corvettes.

I hope this helps.

If it's for a fairing then I suggest FG, easiest and most available here
