Ebrahim K. Kanoo, Toyota and Lexus sole distributor in Bahrain, has said it will start offering the next-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive and the Lexus LS 600h L by early February 2010. The company says the Lexus LS 600h L is the first full hybrid vehicle to be introduced in the Middle East and is equipped with a new 5.0litre V8 hybrid engine and the world's first all-wheel-drive Electronically Controlled Variable Transmission.

Most ppl will buy it cuz 600 is a bigger number than 470 and will make their penis longer than their mates. They won't even care about hybrid or fuel economy etc. If the badge on the back was a smaller number tho. No one would buy it

I drove this at the BIC and i wasnt very impressed. It uses a system that is similer to KERS in F1 but it is only hybrid upto 40km/h then the engine kicks in. The reason they call it LS600 is because of the 221hp electric motor in the gearbox otherwise, if i remember correctly, the engine is a 5.0L. They used the name LS600 because the engine combined with the electric motor put together HP figures that you would find in old school V12 motors.

Its pretty cool when you accelerate though, you put your foot down and there is nothing but silence then you feel the engine kicking in. It's got this huge battery that gets recharged every time you decelerate, on the inside it's the same as the LS460 except for two extra buttons that have been added to the left of the steering wheel on is called EV MODE and i forgot what the other was.

Battery doesnt last long though, you will barely squeeze out one lap of the inner circuit before you have no choice but to switch the engine on.

Not a proper hybrid in my opinion, friggin nice car though!
