im glad u guys agree... cuz there are alot of ignorance jerks who think that drifting is not possible on a fwd and a Honda cant drift!

let see... Drifting by definition is "when the slip angle of the rear tires is greater then that of the front tires" and DRIFTING IS ABOUT DRIVER SKILLS!

so yeah Hondas drift 3'a9ben 3an 7abayeb eli egool la  heheh

u can suck on my pepsi can if u want

i didnt go off topic, we were discussing hondas and i said how hondas suck at drifting :bigok:

and i dont care if u care if i care that u care if i like it or not!!! :electric:

i owned hondas u know, but i hate fwd!! i hate it with a vengance!!! i had plans for my crx, i wanted to stick the engine in the back, make it a rear wheel drive and stick a turbo on it! :D

imagine that huh... i only know of one such car... THEN i would love it

honda's are good for drag strips when they are super modded, they are good for control at autocross and things like that, bs no matter what i wont agree with the drifting part :D

Your Honda vehicle does not require any oil additives. Oil additives may adversely affect your engine's or transmission's performance and durability. Additionally, your Honda does not require the use of rust inhibitors or other additives in its cooling system. The use of these products may not be compatible with the coolant or engine components. The use of fuel additives or fuel injector cleaners is not part of the recommended maintenance schedule and is not required.

Exhaust Systems, the first ingredient in building a car. Basically, your car comes stock with a corked-up exhaust. The reason is simple, noise suppression and cost. It takes time and money to design a good looking, excellent performing, and free flowing exhaust system. Something that car manufacturers just can't afford to waste time on. What you get is a quiet exhaust. That also gets you decreased horsepower, sour looks (even laughter) from people who have a real exhaust system, and exhaust system construction prone to rust. Companies like HKS, GReddy, RS*R, Trust, Racer Design, 5zigen, Tanabe, APEXi, Thermal R+D.... create worthy exhaust systems for performance minded car owners. Of course you could probably spend less and just get a fat ass 4" chrome tip and universal Remus or Sebring muffler. You'll make horsepower, but you'll also make a hell of a lot of noise. A manufactured system generally provides a deep throaty tone, while yielding increases in horsepower. keep in mind this:

Exhaust system construction, make sure the system you are buying isn't going to rust up. Make sure it isn't made out of mild steel. Mild steel is just a commercial term for rust, don't do it. Go for either an aluminized steel, stainless steel, or something with a coating, like ceramic.

Exhaust piping diameter, because big isn't always better. Consider what type of application you are going for. Turbocharging will require a larger diameter, atleast 2.5" for Hondas. Even larger for other applications. Cars that consume a regular diet of nitrous oxide will also appreciate a larger exhaust. For most street and normally aspirated applications, a 2.25" diameter will usually suffice.

Make sure it fits your car, don't let someone sell you or make you a system that "should" fit your car. Exhaust system companies spend countless hours testing for fit and finish.

Make sure it makes horsepower, because it's all very fun until you lose horsepower. Of course every manufacturer expects to make horsepower when designing an exhaust system. But what if it doesn't ?Will your local performance shop tell you? Don't expect super high gains from an exhaust, except for a more free-flow engine. It would also help out if you had an intake and headers, because they are both made to get more air through your engine and your tiny stock exhaust is the bottle neck to your performance.

In every case, a good exhaust system is your starting point. Often times many car owners will cycle through a variety of exhausts because they don't know what they need or they listen to false claims of giant horsepower gains. Don't get burned, get what you need the first time you buy it. Asking a lot of questions is one way to get what you want. (i do this :D)

Now for the exhausts:
Greddy - Deep low sound, real low....nice and smooth.
HKS Super Dragger - Pretty loud and a bit tin.
Trust - Exactly the same as greddy...maybe some better.
5zigen - Nice and chill, kinda loud....lots of different kinds though
Apexi - Nice design
Tanabe - One of the true racing exhaust systems. With the race look tone and canister weights these exhausts rock.

and many other brands if u like to add but those are the best...

I think we should start with things people shouldn't do with Hondas or any other car under any circumstance.

Never cut your springs. Get real springs or a coilover kit, they are available for good prices and different price ranges.

Don't put a huge "GT" wing, if your car is not fast. It will only make it slower!

Don't put huge wheels, which will also make your car slower if you don't have any performance parts and that does only not include a muffler, intake, and headers. Buy wheels which are light and strong.

No stickers that mean nothing. If you don't have a part from Greddy, for example, don't put their sticker period! I've even seen Mustangs with Greddy sticker  . Anyway, to each his own, but this is my opinion.

When people say "ricer" usally they refer to people with cars (especially Japanese ones) that have a big ass unfunctional body kit, loud muffler, "Type R" sticker when they actually have a SOHC engine, "crystal" tail lights (aka Altezzas), and basically parts which are only meant to piss off people (like myself :) )and not make the car actually faster. That is a US definition or classification of "ricers."

Now to real stuff. By far, the best mod for making horsepower and to go fast in Hondas (and many other Japanese cars too) is forced induction, specifically turbocharging. Of course, that depends on your personal preference and budget. Still, if you want to go NA (Naturally Aspirated), you will find good parts that will make you car go fast too. Maybe not as fast as a turbocharged Honda, but fast enough if that's the power range you're looking for.

And when I say turbocharging, the key point is tuning. Even if you have the best parts, and the engine is not tuned properly, then say good bye to your engine. Other than tuning, you have to consider the bottom end of the engine and head. That's of course if you want to go all out and produce high horsepower.

More info that I think I should've added before.

You could also turbocharge your Honda engine by keeping your stock internals, given that you boost up to lets say 8-10 psi, to be on the safe side. However, with our crapy pump gas you'll be pushing your luck in the long run. Some some kind of fuel management or fuel control would help a lot and could be necessary. At the end of the day, even with low boost, tuning is the key. And without a dyno facility in the island it becomes that much harder to fine tune performance cars! Nevertheless, everthing is achievable, but it would take more time and, therefore, more risk.

thnx Mugen R your info are helpful but what about ECU tuning , performance chip..that thing will do much for a honda but with how much can i find a cheap turbo for my 1991 accord .reply me ASAP.
BTW what do you have under the hood and whats your honda type???

Performance chips...hmmm...they are total waste of money; they probably work well in American and German cars, but definetely not on Hondas!

Anyway, as for turbocharging your Accord, you need to at least give me your engine code. Without it it would be hard.

As for my car. Well, I have a 2000 Acura Integra Type R, powered by a turbocharged B18B1 (engine code), which is a non-VTEC (Integra Type R's are powered by B18C). Anyway, my engine is completely built. By that I mean, pistons, rods, retainers, etc etc. It was built and tuned in Chicago (where I studied), and it produced 403 hp/291 lb-tq with 19 psi :ninja:! Of course, I got no NOS! :afro:

Never cut your springs. Get real springs or a coilover kit, they are available for good prices and different price ranges.
.

its not recommended but its ok for a car thats only used for daily driving and cruising around town... the nagative effect is usually minimal, but in a performance driving or racing car cutting the springs is considered heresy :whip:

No my friend, cutting springs is bad period. There is no excuse for doing that! By cutting your springs, you are affecting the travel distance of the spring, therefore affecting the shocks too. In other words, the springs are not performing the way they're supposed to.

Silver SS, good choice with going NA. The B18C is a great engine for that too (it is after all a high compression engine!). Check out Toda racing, they've got some good, I mean, excellent parts. Good luck! :afro:

Exactly! People have to wait and save to get a better part that has been tested and proved to work well, instead of rushing in and buying a cheap part, which will cost them more in the long run!

let me put it this way.. reducing the number of coils increases the spring rate. By cutting the spring you are directly increase the spring rate, and the new spring rate cannot be predicted and probably won't be correct for the new ride height.. but if u do that a good/experianced garage like master exhaust u wont have any problem.. and as i said racing environments needs racing springs but cutting the coils for a daily cruise car wont do any harm!

but hell yeah, :tudevil: i agree that its much better to keep it clean and buy some springs.. i appreciate good qualities and brand.. im not the type to go for cheapo parts!

but yet.. im sure that cutting the springs properly for a cruise car wont do any harm and this has been experianced! :lildevil:

that is true .. lowerin the car using heat or cuttin off the springs will cause the cambers and shocks to go bad after a short time ..

always get the best stuff for ur car .. .if u cant afford it wait untill u can :up2:
