Not worth it at all, you could build an epic GT-R for that price

What exactly is a SpecV?

Rashdi

Exterior changes from the base GT-R consist of a carbon fiber rear spoiler, grille, and brake ducts, along with an exclusive Ultimate Black Opal paint job. Interior changes include a set of carbon fiber Recaro front seats with the rear seats being completely removed. Carbon fiber covers the center storage box, instrument panel, and replaces the majority of the interior trim.

The GT-R SpecV is powered by the standard twin-turbo 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in) V6 with no increase in horsepower. A new high gear boost controller that allows a temporary increase in boost pressure to the IHI twin turbochargers, now larger than those on the standard GT-R, should deliver more torque in mid to high-range revs. Other mechanical changes include a titanium exhaust, reworked suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, and 20-inch (510 mm) NISMO wheels. Overall weight is decreased by 132 lb (60 kg) over the standard GT-R.

No offense but who in his right state of mind would pay 75k for a Datsi?

Striker
June 7th, 2010, 06:45 AM
that's fackiiing expensive....

Just when I thought the GT-R was expensive... The Spec V just redefines everything that relates to "expensive"

20", in today's world those are small now!

+1 with Rashdi regarding making a GT-R into a ROCKET

Double the price for some CF crap???????

That, and Ceramic brakes, better suspension, better steering response, nicer quality from the inside, functional front lip with brake cooling ducts, better cooling all around, bigger turbo's, it has an ''M'' button, its 60KG's lighter than the GTR. Thats about it, and not worth it at all. But it is worth it for people who like to have limited or lets say special cars and dont mind to pay that amount.

The advantage of these bigger turbo's comes when you mod this thing. A normal GTR with a HKS GT600 kit would make around 580whp on 103 fuel. The SpecV with a GT600 kit makes 710whp on 103 fuel.

GT600 kit comes with hard pipes, BOV, intake, actuators, boost controller, 2 warlbro fuel pumps, catless downpipes and midpipe.

^^^hmmm.....can the normal GTR be fitted with the bigger turbo like the one on the SpecV ?

i'd rather buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini with that price!! not a Nissan!!

Yes it can be fitted but, Nissan doesnt sell the turbo's to non SpecV owners and cant be sourced from anywhere unless you find a recked one.

It is expensive because it will always stay exclusive. Its not like the old vspec's where you can source its parts from Nissan or any other vendor.

The only SpecV options you can buy from Nissan:

Tires $1700
Seats for $26,000
Catback Titanium Exhaust with CF undertray for $21,000

Things you cant buy:

The wheels
The emblem
Ceramic brakes
The carbon fiber kit
The carbon fiber subwoofer box

You cant turn a normal GTR to a SpecV hence the price tag.

You can turn a normal GTR into the Nismo version but it will still be expensive.

Nismo Version

Same SpecV seats for 26g's
Suspension, brakes ( non ceramic ), tires, wheel combo for $50,000

For the price of the Spec V you can have bespoke custom made parts just for you car and it will be even more exclusive, higher quality and still cheaper not to mention it will be your own taste

Till the engine explodes? naah i dont think so, do you know how much it costs to mod a GTR when you go deep shway? When you see the bill i dont think you will want to break the engine. It will cost you much more than buying a SpecV.

Car got sold long time ago to a zalama in UAE. 2 weeks later the engine went kaboom from those cheap chinese turbo's. Over $60,000 in repair bills just for the engine not counting the blown transmission as well. Once you go upgraded turbo's, even the smallest ones like Switzer's you will need to upgrade the bottom end because the pistons in a stock GTR engine are cast not forged.

Its not always about straight line performance. What you're paying for the Spec V is for superior handling and being unique. + i dont think you can handle the ZR1, its dangerous even in a straight line.

I still think the difference is shocking! Compared to the difference between a GT3 and a GT3 RS. Or a better example would be a 911 Turbo and a GT2. Even the differene in price between an F430 and a Scuderia isn't this much!!!!!

9ara7a some cars are really engineered but people leave them or ignore them because of their badge or history. the phaeton never seceded in terms of sales number but i have been in the W12 and i can easily say it will put any merc or bimmer to shame i compare it with Bentley. the ride was out of the world yet no one buys it cause it VW

Most arabs like to showoff. Thats why these cars dont sell here that well. People will go for a Porsche instead of the GTR because of the price tag and brand. And also, they think with their dicks when it comes to buying cars just to get some pu$$y.

I second that about the Phaeton, awesome car.

i'd rather get a plain ol' C6, white, convertible and manual please! why waste money?

EDIT: more to the point, i don't think some cf, better handling and better response to mods justify the double price tag.

Other than the pricy tag, will it be able to beat it's rivals on the Ring?
