My Vette on dyno

Took my car for a single dyno run earlier today to see how everything is going, it made 368rwhp and 369rwtq on stock tune only mod is a catback nothing else.

My air/fuel ratio is so rich but I can't tune it so I dont void the warranty, how will this effect my cars engine life? should I screw the warranty and get it tuned? or I should bring it up to the agent?

about your AFR, i'm not sure how's the vette at WOT, but being rich is way safer than being lean. too rich will harm the engine (in the long run), but you have to check with other vette owners and see if their AFR @ WOT is that rich or not.

being too rich will reduce ur fuel economy.. and foul spark plugs faster... and u might lose a little power...

but most of ur gains will be made from playing with Timing...

if you're happy with ur power for the moment then don't touch it

Thanks man, i'll keep it the way it is at the moment but in the near future I may think of either screwing the warranty or just getting the other ECU like you said ;)

Am happy with it but when I saw the dyno sheet and the air/fuel I got a bit shocked, I wanna keep it as safe and healthy as it can be.

Being rich will foul your plugs easier and add carbon build up on top of the piston with time. A dyno tune will certainly improve performance + reliability. In both terms, you can remove carbon build up by using something like techron and change the plugs any time.

The question is, can the dealership find out if the ECU was programmed and dialed? When i used the tech2 before, it didnt have such feature so god knows if they have a different diagnostic or tech that can validate such information.

My adivse is keep the car stock and tune it when you order parts. Order parts shway shway without hurting your budget. Enjoy the car while its stock, and when you get bored, install the aftermarket parts. Warranty is overrated....

your run in the dyno was at WOT which is probably 2% of your driving time. I think what ottoman meant is poor fuel economy happens when your air/fuel is rich while driving the car in normal conditions (not WOT), which i dont think its true. All modern cars are equipped with 02 sensors to improve fuel economy and corvettes are known to have good MPG's.

Thanks man, I guess it won't harm as much as I thought it will, I was told by Adel Khamiri that they can view the software if it is updated or not .. if it shows that it have been updated it will show, also he didn't pull the current file because again it will show.

All what am looking forward to is an intake and headers, i'll order the intake soon because it won't hurt anything, warranty will still be valid but the headers will void it, I guess its just a matter of time because I just got the car thats why am being cute with the car :p

there is not much difference between a stock 2010 gt3 and a stock porsche turbo... i went to the dyno with amer on his ex-gt3 which made 410whp and the turbo will make around 40 more, but weighs more....

Just installed a set of American Racing long tube headers and took my car for re-tune along with the mild to wild controller for my exhaust too, although I expected few more hp's but am satisfied as long as I hit the 400 mark :)
