Spec Mi CF Trunk by Yoshi Suzuka

Nearly a month ago I saw a video about aerodynamics and spotted a duckbill trunk render that was designed by Mr Yoshi Suzuka (http://www.suzukaracing.com/) ( the guy that did the aero for the GTR and many Nissan race cars ). I contacted him for more info on this product.

This duckbill trunk was originally one of the OEM designs he worked on for the GTR then it got thrown away because Nissan wanted a wing, and without a wing you loose its personality and it will have less downforce ( all GTR gen's came with a wing ).

So after lots of talk, we decided to elevate the trunk by couple of cm's for more downforce and to put it into production in many finishes.

The trunk is uniquely designed with a low drag but high downforce focus. ( WT tested ) and also built with a crash stopper on the underside for safety purposes.

Available finishes:

*FRP
*2x2 CF Pattern in Gloss or Matte
*3x3 CF Pattern in Gloss or Matte
*All made in prepregged Dry CF.

I just received the first trunk today before it goes into production and tried mounting it on my GTR but we ran into issues with the OEM Trunk's screws and made it hard for us to unbolt. So I called GGT member S2000 to bring his GTR for back up.

thats a really good fitment. i'm impressed... not perfect, but it's better then most my biggest fear with aftermarket CF is that it wont sit right,

the design reminds me of the M3 one...


hows the weight vs stock?

Thanks Otto! Believe it or not, the fitment is better than stock with less gaps, and it took us less than 5 minutes to align and this is not made by any aftermarket CF manufacturer, this was manufactured by one of the best in the industry that makes OEM CF.

The design is more like the 599 with its pointy edges. The M3 CSL trunk is curved.

It weighs 3KG's with the crash stopper and 2.1KG's without the crash stopper for race purpose. OEM weight is 6.6KG's without the wing. We were able to get the weight down by utilizing our exclusive epoxy resin process to artfully form the dry carbon fiber you see here and the resin used gives off a natural shine because it is UV protected and clearcoat impregnated.

yeah i can tell the quality is top notch for sure...
and what does the wing weigh?
is the stock trunk aluminum?

Otto, I think the OEM wing is roughly 2KG's and yes im 90% sure that it is aluminum.
