sounds issue - iPad 2

hi all

a friend of mine is facing an issue with his ipad 2

suddenly the indicators of the volume disappeared from the home button, youtube and the setting

we tried to do restore.. couldn't help

we did an update to the software and still the same issue

factory software 5.0 and we did an update to the version 5.0.1

no jailbreak been done

and 1 more thing.. if we connect the headset it works normal, all volume buttons appear

i tried to google it or search on youtube.. some ppl having the same issue but nobody know how to solve it

Check in the settings app under General -> Sounds -> Ringers and Alerts. There you should see a Ringer and Alert volume and the option to "change with buttons". Make sure its set to "off". See if this helps

its a hardware fault, the device is detecting an external sound output source, such as a bluetooth speaker or a plug in speaker, hence your control is been done external, try bluetooth, and if no luck, take it to imachines, these things come with warranty.
