The new Mitsubishi Colt 3-door CZ3 range is set to be tough competition for the other pocket rockets of 2005. So what kind of ammunition does it have on its side? Well the range-topping model will produce 150bhp with the aid of a turbo.
Essentially it’s a shorter, plumper coupe-style version of its 5-door sibling but it does have a charismatic appeal of its own. It creates an individual identity through a lower roofline, wider sills, longer doors and teardrop rear quarter windows. It’s a lot sportier and muscular looking; this is backed up by a top of the range 1.5 litre engine, 210Nm of torque, it can sprint from 62mph from standstill in 8 seconds and has a top speed of 130mph.
Other versions are also available for the more feint hearted among you. These include a 1.1 litre version which produces a respectable 75bhp and a 1.3 litre which pumps a more aggressive 95bhp through its wheels, a choice of transmission is also on offer.
