Need Advice

Shabab... need some advice here... got a stock 2002 model 330ci...231 bhp...its quick, but just not quick enough.. after the warranty ends next yr, i wanna put around BD 5,000 - 7,000 into modifying it...

How can I make the most out of this budget? How much bhp can i get out of it in the modification process? can i make it kill M3s? and last question... turbo charger or supercharger?

Is your car manual or automatic ?

Well you can start with an exhaust, instake and computer upgrade.

Im not sure if there is headers for it but ill look around if i was you.

And if you wanted more more power, then go with RMS's supercharger just like silver ss said.

You might hate me for saying this....but BD5,000-7,000 is one hell of a lot of money. I would say get the new Nissan 350Z and soup it up...it will cost way less than what it would to modify a BMW. German cars are pricey all over.

Not trying to flame, bro. But who said Japanese cars are not high quality. Depends what you are comparing. A Lexus IMO is no match for any German car...its got its own awards and has topped the JD Power awards up until now. Get me an LS430 over an S-Class or a 7-Series. :naughty: Don't get me wrong, bes some people are obsessed with the term "German" and are ready to ditch out tons of money for that. The nameplates are strong...but ba3ed people prefer say a 745iL over an LS430 just becuase its German. I would kill for a Lexus GS430 or LS430! :lildevil:

Im sorry but i dont agree with you. People are obsessed with a particular brand and not where it was made. If what you said is correct, then how come the sale of OPEL (German made) is not equal to the sale or Mercedes or BMW ?

Anorther example about German cars, if you have noticed but people who buy BMW dont buy Mercs and vice versa.. How is it since they are the best German cars available today ?

Thats because they like a particular brand over the other and their reasoning varies based on their prefrence like style, ride, ammenties, etc etc etc.

Now lets talk about Lexus. Just like you have mentioned yes it has won many awards.. But the car is not perfect in my eyes nor is it a driver's car. Its ride is way too soft and there is not feel to it. I hate the over drive button on the gear knob. The side locks with the flashy red stickers makes you feel you were in a corolla !

Lexus is more like a woman's car. Plus, Lexus are Mercedes copy cats. Just look at their style.. They look at the top and copy! The first lexus was produced in 90' .. And in 92' the merc came out with their new model "shaba7" and guess what Lexus did to their model ?

The shaba7 had wheels with 6 holes and lexus changed their spoliers and their wheels which was the same design as the merc but their wheels had 7 holes !!!! Infact, the side spoliers looked just like those of he shaba7 that if you looked at the 93' lexus from the front wheel to the rear wheel including the side spoilers.. you would think it was a shaba7 ! :nono:

And to top it off, its alot different when you say my car is a 760iL or S600 then a LS430... No wonder why people are ditching more money.. :wave:

As far as the Opel is concerned...take a look at the price of the Opel Vectra and then...say Mitsubishi Galant. I don't know about the Ba7raini prices, but certainly as far as the Kuwaiti prices are concerned, you can buy almost 2 Galants (1 and a half! LMAO) with the price of a Vectra. I posted that based on what I've been hearing and seeing. Whenever I say I don't like a BMW 5-Series for example, people go "It's German" madry shino. And we do get some people who buy VW's and Opels, saying its "German" and better than their Japanese rivals.

As far as the Lexus is concerned, what you mentioned is typical of Japanese design. You have to live with it I suppose, if you are to buy the car. I personally have no problems at all and enjoy the soft ride. The LS 430 is not a performance car. The Lexus first came out in '88 btw and is relatively new. Their theory was luxury at a balanced price and they are cheaper than German luxury rivals.

As far as the last part is concerned...I'm not really interested in showing myself with my car. Anybody can take a bank loan and buy a car...you're not really proving anything when you say you drive a Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Chevrolet, etc. It may be prestige...but then again, I'm interested in toys and gizmos more than what people think...I wouldn't care less what people think of me or my car.

So yes, there is a buyer for each car. If you ask me, I'm not the kind of person to drive a high end car anyway...I don't like to worry about where I park the car, keeping an eye on it then ditching tons of money to repair damage some moron has causes. :nono: But then again, thanx for sharing your opinion. :)

you guys have to remmeber something. German cars like benz and BMW spend alot alot of money on R&D. Their technologies are unbeatable. Thats where the price factor kicks in!

And one more thing, quality and safety is a NON COMPROMISING factor. I have lost way too many friends in japanese cars (including the squash can LEXUS) for me to even second look it over the german counterparts!

U can stick in a RMS supercharger with 5000+ BD with upgrades for transmission (UUC motorwerks) and suspension (dinan stage 1 or 2 and RD swaybars) and wheels (Hamann PG3's :bigok: )
and get a body kit of ur own taste. It will not cost u more than 7000 BD. It is much better if the car was manual and u can race m3's. Anywayz, Good luck in ur project :bigok:!

Manual would be much better.. Automatic Transmission is good for american cars because of aftermarket torque converters too launch properly. Since u have a auto than i agree with rayash about the mods:bigok:

250hp out of 2.0ltrs.. that's 125hp/ltr with No Forced induction and still meets california's emission standards..
